17:40 This was a reference to 'Injustice Gods Among Us' issue #36. This is when Alfred took the super power pill that Lex Luthor made for Superman. Where Alfred said "“You don’t get to hurt my family any more!” to Superman as Alfred ground pounds the man of steel.

Black Canary usually wears black leather pants or something similar to give freedom of movement. that fishnet thing is a tribute to her mother the original Black Canary Dinah Lance from the Justice Society of America as that costume was just underwear and a top while the cartoons added white socks to censor but added a domino mask. Black Canary is a second generation hero with her son likely being the 3rd.

Since no one is bringing it up, there is a reference to Green Arrow's Chili at 16:10. This chili is so hot, it almost killed Martian Manhunter, Hal Jordan lost the will to eat it, Superman found it so spicy he had to freeze it to eat it. Flash thought it is the perfect weapon to use against Captain Cold. Aquaman was begging for water, and Batman thought it could use more crackers, 'cause Batman. That chili would be considered a lethal weapon in Injustice

Funnily enough, the reason why the female characters in MK11 were redesigned to look more masculine or androgynous was because they hired a gay modeller to make them. Funnily enough, why also all the male models look incredibly buff or why there are so many skins for the male models that are topless.

Fun Fact: Mass Effect: Andromeda was launched just 2 months prior to Injustice 2 in 2017 and they claimed beforehand that their facial expressions for the game was gonna be perfect and a game changer, it resulted in one of the worst facial expressions on all videogames; while Injustice 2 without claiming anything had one of the Best facial expressions in videogames even to this day.

That conversation about the costumes made me remember a conversation I had with a friend of mine, Netherrealm studios, the developers of these games and Mortal combat, are fairly equal in how much they show on characters. Like, yeah, the girls often walk around in metal bikinis and skin tight suits that show everything, but dude's also walk around either shirtless or wearing clothes so tight they literally model a bulge for them... We joked that Netherrealm studios are probably the most equal opportunity "Look at our sexy characters" malers in game development history
