Not really, evil Supes is boring because they have to severely nerf him to give others a chance. For instance if Supes really didn't care about humanity he could float out in orbit and incinerate the planet with his heat vision or fly a suitable distance away then launch himself through the planet and break it in half. Good Supes has the excuse of holding back because he's good he does what's right not what's easy but the only excuse that can be given for evil Supes not just dominating is they nerfed him which negates the whole point of how you overcome somebody with the power of the real Supes if he went bad.

While I enjoy 'good' Superman, having an 'evil' Superman does add more depth to the story, because of his grey view of justice. Certainly adding a high stake feel to it, because when Superman go bad, no character is safe. I like the story of the first Injustice game where there are two Supes so we feel less conflicted, or the Crisis story arc (Superboy Prime as a baddie).

While the "canon" Batman ending hasn't yet been followed up (presumably with Injustice 3), this Superman ending actually has. Check out Injustice Vs Masters of the Universe. Yes, it crosses over with He-Man. And it's fantastic.

@@malikmartin8755 Reportedly we were supposed to get Injustice 3 rather than Mortal Kombat 1 from Netherrealm, but the Warner Bros/Discovery takeover situation left Netherrealm unsure if they would be sold, which would mean they wouldn't be able to do a DC game anymore. So they did another MK game instead. I'm fairly certain Injustice 3 will be their next game, though.

It's true what he said "that's why I don't hold back anymore" just like they didn't hold back in this alternate ending I guess all that's left is the character tower endings for the two injustice games, and for 2 in particular you'll be surprised who they got for DLC guest characters if you don't already know

This endding was resolved in the comics (in all things) in "Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe" comic....I guess they are holding off on continuing the "Batman wins" story in a hypothetical "Injustice 3" game

@@MrChava54 When Hal lost Coast city in the comics he went insane blamed Superman, slaughtered nearly the entire GL Corps. and became a major Justice League level villain perhaps only beneath or even on par with Darkseid.

Like batman free himself from superman , and saw that supergirl was going to die and he save her and evade , this time batman see that superman end up killing all heroes except his son , him and kara , batman come up with gold kryptonite suit , when in a fight superman end up killing damyian and supergirl was dying , he just become brutal and snap WW head from the body and brutally hurt superman , where superman tell him that he is not going to kill , batman told the last thing to supes this time i will and kill superman...

@@anaconda2608 Well there was another comic where Superman turned on the justice league, not because Lois died, He was normal, but basically just pulls an Omni-man, of course in response, Batman has a contingency and turns himself into doomsday lmao. He kills Superman, but the downside is, he ends up infecting everyone else on earth turning them all into Doomsday creatures.

One thing I kind of hate about Injustice is that it further popularised the notion of an evil Superman which by now has been done to death and will continue to be overdone in the future. I'm at the point where I just only want real pure and hopeful Superman in outside media. The reason Superman works and why he is undeniably essential to the world of comics is because he represents the hope and goodness within all of us. In a universe filled with heroes with emotional baggage, Superman is an emotionally healthy hero who while still wrestles with his own demons, he still doesn't let those demons define him.

Superman as a concept is problematic... if you have limitless power its hard to add any drama. Kryptonite and red sun rays don't do enough to add stakes. Making Superman morally grey or evil or tyrannically good is the only way.

The best superman stories aren't about him being the strongest but about him being incorruptible. I always saw supes as more of an archangel Michael allegory than a Jesus allegory. He is everything the devil wasn't. A loyal servant above all else.

Hey is that the "Emotional Damage" guy on your shirt? haha I thought this was way darker than Thanos' ending because it's his best friend lol and he put his own cousin in a red sun prison. It's a shame how evil this Superman turned, he let his fear give in. Great reaction. There is an injustice crossover with Masters of the Universe comic with this ending and He-Man helps rescue Batman while fighting Superman. It's pretty good, but very curious which canon NRS will run with in Injustice 3 once it comes out.

I think what people who say "I like Evil Superman over the original" don't realise, at least in my opinion, is that the reason the concept is so intriguing is because Superman exists. Superman is the ideal good person, he represents what's good in all of us and that good that shine throughout the toughest adversities. He's story is about the positive outcome pf nature v nuture and how that individual uses their positivity to make the world they care for a better place. Superman is culmination of Clark's upbringing. What im saying is, liking Evil Superman is fine, as long you don't disregard the blueprint for that archetype which is Superman. Also, for those people in the comments, I don't blame you for the way you think about Superman, I was right with ya at one point. Movies of recent years focus on his godlike power instead of his character but I'll just say this; OP is not what he is, it's just what he happens to be.

I actually got into comics because of evil superman. I do like the concept, not really because its superman but evil but more of the powerset of superman(being extremely powerful and generally cool powers) used for evil. I just prefer villains in general also. but i dont get real excited when a new evil superman pops up because i know how people will feel about that and would actually prefer i brand new character that can be more than a superman clone. I also do personally think while we have gotten a few evil superman recently. I feel like we have still gotten the true superman too throughout the recent years too.

Ya know there are crossover comics that take place after this ending called INJUSTICE VS. MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE which has HE-MAN now helping them against Injustice Superman!

There is a comic about Superman's downfall which is not physical but moral. He deals with a nearly omnipotent being of the fifth dimension Mr. Mxyzptlk whom tortures him in a myriad of ways, eventually Superman kills him(unintentionally) and though everybody tells Superman he had no choice he can't accept that so he drains his powers through gold kryptonite because Superman can't kill. Most of Superman's conflicts aren't about if he's strong enough or fast enough he's Superman of course he is, they are about if he is doing what's right not what's easy. Scenes that often touch people in regards to Superman are like the suicide scenes from All Star or Grounded, this all powerful being is humble enough and caring enough to just be there for a regular person whom is at the end of their rope. Because more often than not when it comes to Superman it's not about throwing a punch but rather just being the hope that maybe not all future days will be good but that those good days do exist.

This ending really proves that the Joker have won. Even after Superman kills him. If not the Joker, then it’s on Wonder Woman aka Wonder Bitch. Diana’s lust to the fallen Man of Steel is what started the civil war between the Insurgency and his Regime.

Not so much lust as it was gaslighting Superman and goading him into becoming more of a person concerned with power rather than compassion. The real Diana would never! She can be hard sometimes, but she's never been somone that was motivated by power or revenge or the subjugation of humanity.

I honestly hate this ending. A) It’s absolutely unnecessary, they could’ve saved time and money by just showing the character ending for Superman. B) As dark as this Superman is, there is no way he would resort to mind controlling everyone that opposed him. And let’s face it, it was most likely Diana that planted that idea in his mind. I mean the one most directly responsible for making Superman into a tyrant was Diana. And there’s also no reason she should be this evil. Even in the Injustice comics there is no event that truly changes Diana from how she was to where she ended up. She just becomes a villain all on her own.

Let's be honest, now that Batman is brainwashed and Superman fused with Brainiac's ship, they went from World's Finest to World's Deadliest. Plus Superman is beyond Zod level now. Lost his humanity when he lost Lois and lost his Kryptonian heritage when he bashed the memory of his father. Final note, if Darkseid got wind of what was happening, he'd jump start the war as soon as possible because he knows the galaxy can't have "two of him".

Oddly enough,this is the only version of Superman that makes sense. Believing that someone with such power would ever be sympathetic with humans is simply childish. This guy receives a bullet in the eye and it doesn't even makes him blink. So the numbness of his most sensitive nerves might be unmeasurable. He couldn't feel cold or heat neither,he wouldn't fell a hug,a kiss, absolutely nothing. Someone like that would never create boundaries with anything or anyone. Jaby knows God of war for sure, and Baldur is the perfect example of how little someone who doesn't feel anything would care about the world and the people.

The point on Superman being better as Clark Kent vs being Superman is to my understanding the correct idea with Superman being a vessel that Clark delivers good deeds a normal man could never do opposed to Batman being the dark one with Bruce Wayne being a mask that lets Batman do things a vigilante would never be allowed to do

The argument that someone CANT prefer a take on a character that differs from the norm, for example liking villain Superman over hero Superman JUST because they aren’t up to date with the lore of the character is ridiculous. Anyone can be a fan of any version of any character from any media and frankly gatekeeping is cringe.

Much like every Superhero, there are stories that are told well and stories that aren’t. It would be silly to pass judgment on Batman based solely on the Schumarker movies. If you won’t a really good superman story, you should watch Superman vs The Elite. There are many great superman stories, but that one really covers why “always does the right thing” is not a boring character trait.

To create an evil Superman, you basically have to take away everything about him that makes him a hero: his compassion, his steadiness, and his capacity for good, even though he loses everything. An ideal Superman would've kept fighting and not lost his compassion even if Lois and his unborn baby had been murdered....but this isn't that kind of story. I kinda like this version as a "What If" sort of scenario, but Im glad it's not canonicized, its basically the heroes and villains in an alternate universe, but it's really an interesting take on Superman losing the core of who he is and behaving more like Zod than the paragon of hope we're used to seeing him as.

I like Superman's ending a lot more than Batman's. If Batman had taken care of Joker instead of letting millions die this would not have happen. Superman was right.

Exactly, it was a Batman villain that killed Lois. Batman's no kill rule is pure bullshit and Gotham's security and law isn't strong enough to stop criminals like Joker. Batman's stubbornness to kill Joker has cost thousands lives including Jason Todd and Lois lane in the injustice universe.

I agree! I don't give a damn what anyone else says Batman messed up big time when he kept letting Joker live and not putting him down a long time ago, or at least the justice system in Gotham should've just done it themselves and gave him the death penalty sentence.

You shouldn't be afraid to voice your opinions at this point for fear of what some schlub would say in the comments. I am one of those schlubs who would say that Superman has a much more nuanced character than the goody two shoes Captain America-esqe guy that people make him out to be. But i would also say that you should be honest in your opinion on the characters you watch. I much prefer if you tell me that you prefer Batman over Superman if that is your honest opinion instead of guarding your preferences for fear of reprisal from the comments section. The comments will find something or other to complain about no matter what opinion you voice so might as well voice the honest one instead of the guarded one.

Great video as always if you plan on reacting to movies do Scarface released in 1983 starring Al Pachino it is a fantastic and amazingly directed film which really captures everything bad crime wise in the 80s with a lot of links to history mainly the Cold War.

My problem with this "dark and gritty Superman is better" narrative is that it goes against what the character ultimately is, I don't mind Injustice, I really like it, it's a nice What If kind of story, but to me, this is not Superman and should never be what mainstream Superman is, that's why I don't like Snyder Superman, If they made Batman all sunshine and smiles ,cute and funny, PEOPLE WOULD ABSOLUTELY HATE IT, but people have this misguided ideia that dark and gritty = complex and good, but If you actually read any good Superman comics you would know that is bullsh!t. Boy scout Superman is great, thats why he and Batman work so good together as the World's Finest, they balance each other out, If they where the same character, them what's the point?
