Hi Nick, I use additional two features using select tool: 1) Alt Key + Right Button /or/ Alt Key + Scrollwheel - To select object hidden below completely another object. 2) Holding Alt + dragging - To maintain 'below hidden object" selection, and to move it. You made me to switch completely from Affinity Designer to Inkscape. Im indie game developer. Thank you so much for your great tutorials! :)

If you fill and object with a pattern you can modify this pattern using a not so visible widget. 1) Fill the object with a pattern and Make zoom to be able to watch the upper corner of the document. 2) Then press N to see nodes. and you wil see nodes in the upper part of the document. 3) Then you can tweak the pattern in size (Square shape) , rotation (Circle shape) and position (x shape).Pressing Ctrl you can constrain the operations. Thanks for your tutorials . They are really well done.

I love the tutorial but part of me feels like you should be using the default theme - especially when teaching new people.

Hi Nick, I've watched several of your tutorials and would like to make a few suggestions that might be helpful. 1. Reduce your screen resolution before starting: when watching your tutorials on KZfaq, it's sometimes difficult to follow because the icons you click on are really small. At a lower screen resolution, they would be easier to see. 2. Take account of the KZfaq overlay when your video is paused: when I'm following your explanation step by step, I pause the video so I can do the action. But when KZfaq is paused, there's a semi-transparent overlay and it stops me being able to see the icons properly (which ones are on, which ones are off, etc. 3. Be careful to speak slowly enough and not talk in quick, short spurts: occasionally, I've had to play back something several times to figure out what you said. 4. The dark theme can make stuff difficult to see: I love the dark theme, too. but maybe visibility would be better if you used the default theme. 5. Be careful about habitual expressions of speech: in one tutorial, I think you said "Now, what I wanna do..." about a hundred times. :-D It didn't add anything to the explanation, but it did get a *little* irritating... :-) Anyway, hope this helps. Your tutorials are *really* good and I will watch more of them. Thank you for your great work. I like how you don't miss a detail and, in the end, I can always reproduce what you demonstrate successfully. More power to you, mate ( and, yes, I am using laxatives regularly :-D )
