A short tutorial on how to do an inlay on a knife sheath. This video will show some techniques that I have learned, and I hope it will benefit you. I am sure there are other ways to make an inlay sheath, this is just the way that I do it. Enjoy!

Six hours to sew on the skin. Wow, that's dedication. My hat's off to you! But, that's why I bought a darn sewing machine. Not as much fun as hand stitching though.

That's fantastic work...if I can ask a question, is it just a darker color dye that you use in the edges or is it something different?
@NuManXplore

I'm just getting into leatherworking and really enjoyed this video. I'm friends with a good many professional blacksmiths and knife makers to include Jesse Hemphill. Is there any way you could send me a list of essential leatherworking tools and som quality brands. I refuse to buy the Chinese crap that is what a good many suppliers sell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

CS Osborne is a good supplier as well as Barry King, but they are a bit pricey. Thanks for the comment.

Some people inlay hair-on steer hide...it looks pretty good! I don't know about beaver, it's pretty thick.
