I've gotten some really nasty gashes on my knees from speed skating on the track. You'll probably never see a world level skater fall in a time trial but it definitely happens in 6+ skater races. Ive seen some wicked crashes in distance events where you have like 10 skaters in a big pile up and then you see them trying to catch back up with bloody and torn skin suits.

I really like watching smaller sports because there is more variety in techniques. Major sports have had so many people trying very hard to find the perfect technique that there are very efficient standards that you must adhere to in order to perform at the highest level, major improvements are few and far between because its already so optimized and are mostly improvement in body conditioning rather than technique.

Isn't it possible to gain escape speed by entering from the out a little with the approach of entering the chicane? If you glide around in front and dash to the end at the start, 0.3 seconds may be quick.

The spanish won by 1ms but later clock shows that he won by 10ms, there is huge ass difference between 1ms and 10ms, if he won it by 1ms then actually he didn't win because sensors will take atleast 1ms delay too. that was so damn close.

I personally had no idea this was a thing till just now so I wanted to ask how much does wind actually matter in this like when ur running ig u could say it affects your speed but not by enough for it to b an excuse unless really strong winds but idk if it’s different since their rolling on their wheels

@@JaydrianHarper0906 Like on a bicycle, wind effects really starts to show around 25 km/h. I usually skate around those speeds in the city and on bike lanes and I can definitely when wind is in my back since rolling feels a bit easier all of a sudden. And also why recumbent bicycles aren't allowed in cycling competition (bikes where you lay back in them), they are too fast xd. Theres a video somewhere here where a 220 pound average guy can pass super fit cyclist just due to the aerodynamics of a recumbent, but he still gets owned on hill climbs. So yeah, aeros are important.
