What do you guys think of Inmotion’s latest Nerdmobile? To the beginners torn between their first EUC, although my final rating is 6.9/10, the V12 is a better starter wheel than the other 16 inch wheels on the market. (Maybe I’ll do a comparison with the Nikola don’t know!) Anyway make sure to give the wheel a go for yourself and watch a variety of reviews to determine if it’s for you. When I get some time I’ll answer any questions posted here or contact e-RIDES. Links to the channels and businesses mentioned are in the description. See you x

Honestly this doesn't really help me make my decision for purchasing my first wheel. Your video and opinions combined with other vids/opinions combined make it seem like a solid choice for a beginner and a great all around wheel, but at the same time you make me think that perhaps I should spend a bit more and get a Sherman. The more I study this hobby the less I know, but I don't really want to go beyond $3,000.
@TheCreativeNomad
@TheCreativeNomad 2 жыл бұрын
@VitaminJ I strongly suggest you don't buy a Sherman or spend that much money for your first EUC (unless you have someone teaching you how to ride it). I bought the Sherm as my 3rd wheel and without a doubt, the V12 is much more manageable for a first time user (weight, app, features, tech support). Go with the V12 then save the extra money and put it towards gear or something.

There is basically no other wheel in the same class or even above with an IP rating certification. Imo, if it doesn't have an IP rating it doesn't exist and isn't worth considering. The price seems reasonable and competitive, DHGate €1800, but unfortunately the market is limited due most countries it being illegal to ride on public roads, or requiring complicated certification.

"to heavy for a 16inch wheel" could you imagine if the wheel was light with a top speed of 43mph? that wouldn't make no sense! Riding in the lowest pedal hight makes it much more stable. These reviewers are so hard to please. The wheel is waterproof ip rated, has a digital display, kick stand, goes 43mph, has 3 different pedal levels for stability, 79 miles of range, digital anti-theft alarm and it gets a rating of 6.9/10 because it's a 16inch wheel and to heavy? smh....and throwing in the v11 mistakes is also unfair. Don't let anything that I said distract you from the fact that the production quality of this review is amazing!
@TheCreativeNomad
@TheCreativeNomad 3 жыл бұрын
Nope not a distraction at all, all differing opinions are welcome when communicated respectfully. If anyone believes a 16 inch wheel should be heavier than an 18 incher then their concept of portability is skewed. The appeal of a 16 inch wheel is that it'd be either: portable, nimble, and possess better acceleration from stationary than a larger wheel. It needn't be the weight of a V10 and reach 43mph, the weight of the Nikola would suffice- which does comparable speeds. Its stability is actually consistent at all pedal heights, changing the height provides greater manoeuvrability and clearance off- road. Regardless of height it will wobble at the top end speed due to its top heavy nature. As for hard to please, well unless I'm mistaken I clearly pointed out the many positives of the V12. To focus only on those positives as if it is all rainbows and daffodils is disingenuous; which I'm sure commentators like yourself wouldn't hesitate to note- and rightly so. RE the V11, products don't exist out of a vacuum, they're linked to the brand and that brands past behaviour. Therefore, if another issue were to arise with the V12 on a major scale like it did with the V11, there's a probability that Inmotion may not be forthcoming in quickly addressing how they seek to rectify the issue, if at all. That is incredibly important and has to be reflected in the overall score. However, as I noted in the video- Inmotion have a lot to offer as a company and I would recommend their products only with that caveat. I hope you do enjoy the V12, should you purchase it, as one more wheel riding the streets is a win for promoting Electric Unicycles.

I've just upgraded my V10F to a V12 HT, and it's going to take some time to get used to all that weight and it's distribution. I'm hoping to keep the nimbleness of the V10F, and gain range, some reserve speed and being able to climb hills at a higher speed without having to worry about a tilt back. For me it's been the perfect upgrade, but I'm glad I didn't have to learn on it! BTW: Absolutely awesome video, it's very informative and definitely interesting. I appreciate all the effort put into it. 😊

If you considered and then based on this one video to discount the V12 you must have another, better euc in mind now? I deposited on the V12 because Im just entering the market for a new electric transport. It looks to be really well built and well considered along with the fact the company took the step off releasing this later than is custom. Instead, Inmotion sent early units for review to the community in order to refine it before dumping it on the market (not making everyone a beta tester). I think that pointed, very involved, step is new and better behavior. Seams it may contrast to a previous customer relationship problem and reliability issue described here as a justification for a lower score. A little arbitrary for me this reasoning to lower the score. Odd to look at performance and usability and form and the look of this then say eh it’s a company I want to pin the V11 debacle on and I associate the company failure as I see it upon all new products.

I think your arguments make little sense. It doesn’t strike me as a beginner wheel. It’s an expensive and high speed wheel that retains the trademark quality of the inmotion brand. This does not appear to be a product marketed as anyone’s first euc. The price-point and performance land it squarely in the sights of already existing enthusiasts. Likely it would be a danger to a beginner. The size also makes it more portable and the customizable height of the pedals allows an experienced rider to choose how best to encounter their preferred terrain. This is a flagship product, not an introductory one, like the V8f or v10 series. By the time someone chooses to purchase a V12 they likely would have enough riding experience to know what they’re upgrading to.

Hi Denielle, I just discovered your channel and subscribed straight away as I am overly impressed by your content. I’m thinking about buying an EUC, but I’m worried about current laws regarding PEVs. I’ve been riding an e-scooter for two months and after doing about 500-600 miles I haven’t been stopped by the police even once, despite riding next to them a few times. As an experienced EUC rider, can you tell me if responsible riding is possible without getting into trouble with the police?

Thanks for stopping by. Are you in England? If so, the legality element is definitely a tricky one but more so within London than other counties. Considering you’ve been riding an e-scooter unimpeded i wouldn’t worry about an EUC. Mainly because the latter isn’t as ubiquitous. From personal experience of 4ish years riding it’s been nothing but positive from the police, bar one time when i was riding like a clown!

You can take EUC to a store, bus, train etc much easier than an e-scooter.

Hmm between the V8F and V12. On face value the cost of the V8F makes it appealing but considering you live in a big city you're going to need something that will get you around without range anxiety. Like you said, the V8F won't give you the speed you'll need once comfortable and to add to that it isn't as road suitable as the V12. So I would go with the V12 because it's more future proof. Ciao e grazie! 😊 upgrading can be tough there are just so many options! In spite of the problems i still really, really enjoy the V11. This is more so due to the bigger size than suspension.18 inch just feels like the sweet spot for wheels. The V12 ride experience did grow on me but not to the point where I thought i *need* this wheel but take that with a pinch of salt because it may be perfect for you depending on use case. Hopefully you can attend a local group ride to try them out. Davastato raised some good points in his review too, so that’s also worth watching if you haven’t already. Hope that helps!

Undoubtedly, both the V11 and V12 will have hardware and software updates to resolve a lot of the issues. Is the "V" in the naming in the wheels really based on the v configuration of an internal combustion engine? That doesn't make any sense... "V" engines always have an even number of pistons. It seems far more likely to me that the "V" is just the version number which they increment each time just like the iPhone1-10, etc...

Emulative naming isn’t the same as engineering replication. Failing to understand that will of course result in the obtuse reasoning that it’s more plausible to begin with the odd naming process of launching a Version 5/ V5 EUC rather than a V1.

WRONG, WRONG, SO WRONG! The V12 is a TERRIBLE wheel to learn on. It’s over 70lns., it’s top heavy and too powerful for a new rider. I would know; I bought it as my first wheel a month ago and I’M STILL STRUGGLING TO LEARN IT! I’m tired of these experienced riders saying “you’ll learn in a day” or even an hour, or “this wheel is great for learning” and they’re riding a sherman or something. Buy a cheap small wheel with little power. THAT’S a good wheel to learn on.

I don’t think v12 has anything to do with a v12 engine lol

i always saw the "v#" as "version #" especially since they keep progressing the number higher with every wheel, BUT since this is their fastest wheel it might as well be the "v12 engine" of inmotion, lol.

i was going to buy one, but then i kept seeing these reviews talking about all this bullshit with giving your personal info to a bunch of random chinese dudes just to turn it on, like, why? why would i give them my location, why would i even need to do such a thing? who thinks thats a good idea?
