The 5210 and 3040RS are the same tools with the same exact features, just different colors and brick & mortar retailers. AutoZone sells the 3040RS and O'Reilly Auto Parts sells the 5210.

Our scan tools can retrieve the data and codes from all vehicles with the key ON, however some vehicles don't communicate with the key ON so we suggest at times to start the engine to connect to your vehicle, therefor it is ok to start your engine to get codes.

When you go into "System Status", there isn't an "ABS" option under "Global OBD2", or does the screen display "N/A" when reading ABS? Have you updated the 5210? The updates are free.
