Yup. It's obvious that the silver car was entering the turn lane at the intended, legal spot, while the cammer was illegally using the center lane as a travel lane to get ahead of traffic, despite the silver car's legal turn signal and point of entry. The silver car did not sideswipe his truck, he collided with the silver car.

I don't think people know what solid and dashed lines mean. People drive over solid lines all the time and cause accidents. They just don't learn or they just don't care or they just only care about themselves and where they are going. Either way, more accidents on the way because people don't know what lines mean.

1: Remember that those electronic speed displays always lag a good three seconds behind real speed. I can come to a full stop at a stop sign and pull away, and mine will never show less than 5 mph. 2: Judging by the very light damage to the other vehicle, and the time it took the cammer's vehicle to travel from the lightpost nearest the accident to the orange construction sign, I think they were well below 50 by the impact. 3: Answering your question, here's my theory: They don't instantly realize that the traffic condition ahead has gone from "annoyance" to "threat". By the time they do realize that, fractions of a second later, their hand is already on or moving toward the horn. Then, they freeze mentally or physically and the hand stays where it is. Doesn't mean they're expecting someone to yield right up to the instant of impact.

Guy didn't even seem to slow or brake until impact either? Was going 50 at the start of the video before it zoomed it (while approaching a work zone, with a visible line of stopped cars ahead) and by the time the video had zoomed out after impact, it was still 48mph and falling. Which, even with the delay, he still would have been have been likely doing 40-45 *at impact* instead of even attempting to brake -__-

#35 Looks like the cammer was at fault. The turn lane in the middle of the road is for turning into businesses or driveways. The actual left turn lane doesn't start until the yellow line ends. The other driver properly waiting for that area to get into the turn lane. The cammer was impatient and went into the middle lane and then into the turn lane improperly.

In BC novice drivers who get 2 or more points have their license suspended which basically means revoked since they have to start all over again with the written and driving tests for one year then 2 years as a novice driver.
