Seriously. I wanted to like tears of the kindom so badly, but it just felt like an mmo grind without the great unique bosses and dungeons

@bradyonetv I played BTW a few times, it was a nice *experience* I don't think it was the first 3d Zelda to capture the "scale" or "exploration* Windwaker already did great on that. Not saying it can't be enjoyed, but TOTK seemed very similar in spirit to BTW and all the "new" things just reminded me of BTW, I never bought into the hype so I didn't buy TOTK, the hype has definitely died down. Majora's Mask is a better example of same engine yet insanely unique sequel.

Oooh man I would spend real money for someone to make a Zelda or Zelda inspired game along the lines of "Zelda, War Against The Evil Gods" and for Link to defeat Sumerian, Canaanite, Greek gods, ect. After all, the 7 sages in OOT are based off of Sumerian mythology.

Lmao, bayonetta is a game about bosses. Metroid is a game about "dungeons". Zelda is a game about adventure, the bosses are not the focus, never have been, never will be, and aren't even that great with a few exceptions. (Mostly from botw/totk and ss, ironic to your assertion) What "makes zelda" is actually its whimsy, literally every game that tries to clone zelda fails for the same reason - it lacks whimsy, Like when ghibli makes a film without miyazaki. If you want boss fights, play wonderful 101, mgrr or vindictus, not botw or totk, because they are games about adventure in a strange fantasy world, not a game about wonky time warp mechanics against weak attempts at eldritch horror.

The quality of a Zelda game directly correlates to the complexity of its dungeons, it's by far the most important element and why the Switch games are so inferior.

That whole mod is a masterpiece. I think it takes place between Oot and Majoras's Mask

that's awesome. it would make the boss way more difficult, instead of spamming time stop and poking its butt.

It would also make their rescue seem less pointless. Seriously, if this romhack is supposed to be a story where you rescue the fairies, then why have it end where the monster just eats them? It just makes the victory feel hollow imo.

Kind of reminds me of that big poe boss from Wind Waker.

​​​@@CTHD13 well yea, but we're saying in order to make the fight more challenging (and more cohesive with the story's goal of saving the fairies), *the player* should have to do something with the fairies in order to win. For example, the fairies could be the source of the boss' magic power, so in order for us to win, we should have to save ALL the fairies out the cage so the boss can truly be vulnerable to dying. So the fight could look like this: each time we land a critical hit or break through some kind of guard, a fairy gets knocked out of the cage. The fairy panics and flaps around the room, but we have to catch the fairy before the boss traps it again. The catch is, the more fairies we save, the more desperate & physically brutal the boss gets. Once we get all the fairies, THEN we can land the final blow. Thats more interesting than just spamming Time & slashing his cheeks.

It’s an awesome item! It only seems OP here because it’s the boss’s weakness. I imagine most normal enemies can just turn around, or they don’t carry any real advantage to juking them so you can attack from behind

I agree. To me, this is still the only rom hack to this day that feels like a canon n64 zelda game

​@@bradyonetvThe only flaw (and its hard to ignore) is how the romhack handles that one character's death who's ghost lives in your new sword. It's too abrupt and rushed for such an important character. Everything else is great though.

Haha, my first play through was the same way. Couldnt beat it until i started using power crouch stabs! Nice to know i wasnt the only one who had a hard time with it at first 🤣

This video definitely makes it look easier than it is. I probably died 5 or so times before beating it in my first playthrough. The second stage especially is pretty janky to play casually, its definitely no easier than any official game bosses.

I believe Kaze said that he currently has no intentions of adding onto this mod in the future, so effectively this is the final version. Honestly, it was a pretty fun playthrough and feels authentic even though its a little on the short side, i definitely recommend giving it a shot.

The C-up info button tells players to aim for its weak backside, so i bet if players got confused they would eventually press the boss info button. Would be cool to see what a unique cutscene that shows the weakpoint would be though
