This is the fastest pop-up tent that I have ever seen!
What I have today is an instant popup style tent that sets up fast and here’s the kicker, it doesn’t weigh a ton. With the majority of tents that fall into this category, they tend to weigh a lot and that’s where this tent breaks the mold…kind of. I’m speaking of the 1p model, with the 2P version, the weight really becomes noticeable.
As you are about to see, this tent is impressive and bizarre all at the same time.

Finally a Lightweight Instant Popup Tent - NatureHike Canyon Tent
This is a very interesting tent and in fact, you’re about to see just how interesting it is in this episode.
Person : 1 or 2 person
Doors : 1 on the 1P and 2 on the 2P
Included :
Storage Bag
7 tent stakes
Tent with body
7 guy lines which come preattached.
Materials :
1P : Silicon treated 20D Nylon Ripstop fly and 70D ripstop Nylon floor
2P : 210T Ripstop Polyester fly and 19t Polyester floor.
Both tents feature a fiberglass pole system
Waterproof Rating : 2000mm HSH
Dimensions :
1P : Measure on video
2P : Since I don’t have the 2P version I can’t state accurately what the measurements are.
Folded Dimensions :
1P : 18” x 6”
2P : 23.2” x 7.8”
Weight :
1P : 3.3lbs
2P : 7.2lbs
Colors : Brown for the 1P, Brown, Green and Red for the 2P
Price :
$155 for the 1P on Aliexpress
$160 for the 2P on Amazon
$190 for the 2P on NH’s Web site
I would love to see NH consolidate all of their products; they produce so much and their products seem to pop up all over the place and also disappear.
One day a tent will be on their website, the next day it is gone. Then it’s on Amazon and then it's gone but it pops up on Aliexpress.
….
Impressions :
Setup
Quality
Materials
Fabric inner - this is what i consider a big problem with this tent - this material is going to hold in a lot of heat while blocking wind -
does the door have mesh?
Size
Weight : the weight of the 1p is manageable for the trail but the 2P is rather high. High enough that I would classify it as a car camping style of tent only.
Easy to get into and out of?
Any issues?
Rain testing is coming up soon.

Those extra long ties are for when the tent is used with a cot, the extra length enables the tent to be pegged out securely. I think this tent was initially designed as a cot tent.

Another good first look. As a larger (over 6’) person I’ve usually gravitated toward two person tents because I like to have my gear out of the elements at night and the extra room is good for added ventilation in warmer months. The width of this tent makes it iffy for me due to the same concern you had (a drawback to going to a gym). Thank you for sharing this review.

One thing you should remember is that these tents are not only sold in America. Last Sunday I arrived for an overnighter on Dartmoor, England at 4 p.m. and it was 12C which is 53F, chucking down with rain and blowing a gale. it was only going to get colder and a mesh inner would not have been any good, although one obviously needs some mesh for ventilation.

I absolutely love how easy this tent can be set up and the quality. I almost would run and buy it except I live in a warm climate. Without more mesh, I would be very limited when I could use the tent. Which is sad because I REALLY WANT to use this tent. A little wider would be nice. I hope those pull points don't leak. Thank you again for the video

This tent looks like it is making way in the future product of easy setup tents. Naturehike did a wonderful job designing this tent to set up very easily. That design in itself can make this tent sell out despite the other flaws it brings. I really hope that they improve on the tent because this could be their ticket to being a more respectable brand.

Love the tent, and your reviews, Luke. If and when you decide to rain test this tent, don't forget to put those rubber caps at the end of the draw-pulls over the holes the strings pull through to make it waterproof. The instructions showed a Image of the tent put on top of a cot . The dimensions are based on the average Cot. If you put it on a cot you can get better airflow . If you go back to about to 1:55 minutes part of the video you can see the images in the instructions. . A couple of those images show cot legs under the tent. I have looked into buying some thing like this a few years ago. I don't remember the brand but didn't buy partly due to the length. I am a little on the tall side and would need something at least 80 inches.

Interesting product. Looking forward to testing. As a part of field testing make sure to try it on a cot as many design features are built around that. As it stands it looks attractive as a less claustrophobic bivy shelter. Not super comfortable but quick to set up if the weather changed unexpectedly or you misjudged how much daylight was left.

I half expected it to spring to life when you took off the compression strap and looking at the instructions I was curious about the low tie outs. It looked like it was going to be above ground. I live in New England. So for early spring, late autumn would be great. I camped and woke up to 25 degree nornings before. I like the quick setup. Some of the gazelle tents and ice shanties are a pain to pull the sides and don't fold back up that easy. As far as guidelines, my current backpack tent doesn't have them from the top either. But with my gear inside, never had a problem.

I believe you mentioned this tent was designed to also be used with a cot. If so, then those guy line placement points make more sense for going from cot to ground. Indeed, higher guy line points added would be a big plus. Yes, more mesh. I have the Teton Sports rendition of this concept and like it quite a bit, and have both rain flies (short/long) but prefer to use it w/o the fly beneath a baker tent style tarp set-up so I get that max airflow and rain protection from the tarp.

The tent is interesting, and it's roomy enough for one person doing late sprint to early fall camping, especially out of a car or off of a motorcycle. The two-person version is so close in price that it would be my preference for this manufacturer/line for moto or car camping. I don't care if it's a little warm because that generally works well in the northern half of the country, especially in the West where the humidity is lower and it gets cool at night. I like the fact that this tent can be mounted on top of a cot to get up off the ground, and that will also keep it cooler in the hot weather. I would have liked to see you actually spend a night in it, and then finalize your report. This was really more of an overview than a true review. In fact, I'd like to see you use it in warm, cool, and rainy weather... so I don't have to (and risk trip failure)!

Just got the 2 person version of this Naturehike tent. The 2P does does have proper guy-out points about halfway up the fly (guy lines included). No lines attached (or provided) for the corners of the tent body - so the corners are just staked. All required stakes (though small) are included: 4 for the body, 4 for guyouts, 2 for the doors. There is more mesh, only because the tent is larger - but it's still not enough. I'm experimenting with placing a fan, hung from the "umbrella mechanism" in between the inner and outer. It is a perfect placement to draw air from inside straight out the vent at either end. Oddly, there is a small patch of mesh, on the fly, for the vent - huh? I'm not sure I've seen this, why would it be there, when the inner is the bug protection. Maybe it's for wind driven rain? I'm thinking of cutting it out to improve airflow. The inner tent body is attached to the outer with toggles and can be fully removed. Would be nice if Naturehike sold a replaceable full mesh inner - ok, there's a zero percent chance of that. As was said, so much fabric was just a big "miss" on Naturehike's part. This could be a great cool/cold weather tent as long as those umbrella mechanisms don't fail.

I do like the weight. I use a cot but never tried an on top tent made for it. Especially compared to the litefighter...

the rubberized bell shape pull is also a cap for the hub to make it waterproof.

I like the colour. I would like to know how strong those two umbrellas are at each end though.

If I was a manufacturer, I would be glued to this channel and take some serious notes …I agree with Luke .. Naturehike need to consolidate their products.. they are all over the place, nice tent, for kids and the Asian market.. too small..

Those long stake outs are great for rocky ground or if one must pile stuff on the strings or tie them to logs. Sometimes, I wonder the tent makes one take the same line to the upper guy out & stake it all. Hmmm...no upper guy outs...must just be for like a festival or pop right up out for a quick pop in long side the road car, maybe a half mile back the State Park.

This type of umbrella inspired setup can be found in Europe on several decathlon tents. But they aren't light or ultralight like this one. But they have an other party trick. They offer a fabric that makes it pitch black inside.

I think the guy lines are long to allow for the cot and why it’s narrow as well to fit on a cot and with the fabric inside I think they done that where the poles are because of how it folds and rubs on the fabric when it opens and closes. I’ve been looking at this tent for a while and I’m glad you made a video so can see it in action would love to see a camp in it 👍

My ICS tent I just got is bigger and better designed. I can see the extra length on the guy lines for the cot and I like the pop-up style. This tent would be lighter than my ICS but would it be storm proof? I can see where the Chin military now got their new pop-up shown on their military review channel. I wish I could still access to the vid to look at it again since they only showed it being half setup and then fully so. The entire channel has been taken off the net. Great 1st look at this product. I couldn't use it since it isn't wide enough. Take Care and Stay Safe.

The pop up mechanism is a copy of those netted, food covers that keep the flies off the plate. Like a reversed umbrella mechanism. Cool.

Seems to me that this is just two umbrellas supporting the tent. I am looking forward to how it will hold up to wind and rain. Very interesting system. =)

I tested a pop-up tent in a store. Roomy but, if ONE of the angled arms at the top breaks, the bowe breaks too. Could'nt, help myself on that one. 😅 Great option until the plastic connection stresses too much then it doesn't reconnect. Trying to recall the company, the concept was made like an umbrella.
