INSANE MACKEREL BUST-UPS AS FAR AS YOU CAN SEE! - (Part 1)

Hey everyone! Welcome back to a new video of an absolutely unreal session I had recently with Dad.
We heard reports that there were large numbers of spotted mackerel (spotties) at the mouth of the Jumpinpin Bar.
We drove down to the Gold Coast and left from the Seaway, before making our way up South Stradbroke Island to the spot.
We found mackerel and tuna bust-ups instantly, and ended up having a session so red hot that I've had to split it into two separate videos!
We cast lures and the spotty mackerel were annihilating pretty much everything in sight! But so were the big sharks...

G’day Flippa, thanks heaps for the kind words and support mate! It’s definitely one of the best situations when mackerel fishing. They are literally in a feeding frenzy when they’re like this, so they will eat almost anything and it makes for some crazy strikes and fights! Great stuff. I'm yet to have s day where they are just smashing slugs. Mr K looking very rock star with the bandanna!! Hope the fame isn't going to his head🤣

Thanks heaps mate, it’s good to hear from you! We have had to wait a long time to have a session like this too, it’s been a long time since we last found mackerel like this. We usually get them on slugs while bait fishing at Palmy or if they quickly bust up somewhere, but to be able to fish with nothing but lures was pretty cool. Hahah it’s definitely not fame going to his head mate, just the sun on his pale skin! 😂 You’ll see all the best fishos wearing the head scarfs soon 😉🤣

Hahahah Dad was absolutely smacking them mate! On the light 12lb gear too, so awesome. He always seems to get the most or the biggest fish! 😝👌

Great session with your dad, good info on the line spec, 15_20 pound is fine for most fish if matched to the right rod.

Thanks heaps mate! Yes you’re spot on there, you have to let them run anyway and can’t use a tight drag, so 15-20 pound gear is perfect for them. Tight lines! 👍🎣
