Insane Pearl Bomb Galaxy Splatter Painted car done using AutoFlex Coatings High Gloss Peelable Paint, Powdered Pearls from DYC and KP Pigments. Eric Ernst from Lazy 8 does the spraying and we all contributed throwing pearls on the car. Such a fun project! The car is peelable and removable.

Quick q, im wanting to try this on my car but dont have a professional spray booth setup like you have, is it possible to apply plasti dip and still get a good finish, if i was to use a mobile canopy?

That sounds rude, but basically they add powders to a liquid to make the pearl, that's exactly what they're doing here, this channel has about 100 videos showing the process, what I was suggesting was they do what they did here, with their modern pigments.

Yep. At least have a southpaw do the driver's side. Give the illusion of speed - even while parked. And only one ( maybe two colors). This is hideous.

You'd have to sign up for insurance BEFORE the paint job. Certain colors can cost more and the agents want to know what color it is. If I insured it now and they asked what color it is, I'd have to say, YES.

Next time you should get a makeup artist to come an use brushes to accent specific angles of the car and see what they can come up with using those crazy pigments

How about setting up a large fan in front of the car and dumping the pearl powders in to the airflow to get a less 'streaked' finish? I'd love to give that a go!

Rey Figueroa - oh absolutely, I just like the way the fan might build up colour on the high spots. Kinda like when it's been driven for hundreds of miles on a dusty, colourful road. I didn't mean 'instead of throwing', but rather 'as another idea'

I personaly dont like it because of many different colors you used. But can imagine it would look sick if you'd go with just blue-ish scheme. Different shades of blue, purple maybe white would make it look like one of those space photos.

I thought the same! But the effect seems stronger, to me anyway, at the micro level vs. macro. The macro loses a little something but the zooms are breathtaking. Northern Lights esque, even.

This effect is awesome. I'd love to see one done like this but using colors of the aurora borealis (fluorescent greens, blues and purples). Maybe try dropping the dry pigments into a fan too.

That is slick looking for sure. I nearly turned it off at first but I was like well lets see what the clear coat does for it. I think the clear coat makes this a beautiful paint job. Id love to see all of the pearls thrown in the same direction as if you drove thru a wall of them though. Beautiful work though guys.

This would have looked good with a design, something which actually had an artistic goal. Making conscious choices with the palette, and having a directional sense to the work would make this a potentially good technique!!

Did you let the coat cure over 24 hours or did you throw the pearls on while tacky? I have an idea for something like this on my drifter, but with a different base coat and an interference pearl in the clear coat and I'm just concerned when blowing off the excess pearl that the main impact will blow away as well.

I love the look of this! It reminds me of those galaxy spray painters that use buckets and cans to make shapes as they spray that end up looking like planets when they are done.

Applied in overlapping widely dispersed throws (like the ones on the hood) for the blue, and the tighter more splatter like throws done in the iridescent. I think it could make the car look like water.

how can a dry pigment bond to a dry basecoat? are you not worried that your clear coat will detach?

Pop & I was watching this video and really like the way it turned out , so we were talking about how cool his 50 Ford would look going down the road , I really like how the Mustang with the Orange base coat and the gold pearl turned out it makes that orange just pop . I bought my granddaughter a 2003 grand am and I had to buy a new back bumper for it ( her first car gotta make it look good for her she's 17 ) but can't afford to get it painted so going to try spray canes white with clearcoat and I'm nervous as hell that I'm going to screw it up 🤯🤯 Love your videos guys pop & watch them all the time to see what you guys are up to and to see the awesome job you all do ✌👍👍🧤 😈☠✌✌

Such a cool effect! I'm betting it looks even better in person, (I would love to see this car in person!) What if you could control the powders you're throwing, (like an airbrush) or something I haven't come up with yet, would be INSANE!

Terence Martin they do make flake guns that is basically a blowgun with a Hopper on top you load up with flake
