Hi there Buddy! And thanks a lot for another great reaction to Angelina. Here is a little more information on this event and the performance that I have prepared. This ceremony is always held here in Norway, and she flew in from LA to perform in her home country. The Nobel Peace Prize is one of 5 Nobel Prizes awarded every year for worthy recipients. The peace prize recipients are nominated and chosen by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, appointed by the Parliament of Norway, as per the will of Alfred Nobel, the Swedish founder of the event. He was a Swedish chemist, engineer and inventor and was the one who invented dynamite. Not very peace-like, but still. The Nobel prizes have been awarded for the last 122 years, starting in 1901. This year's prize was awarded to women's rights advocate Narges Mohammadi from Iran for her work in fighting against the oppression of women in Iran. All the performers in the event were from Iran or had Iranian descent. Angelina's grandmother Mery Zamani was born in Iran, and so I can imagine that performing here meant a LOT for Angelina and her family. Narges was sentenced to 31 years in jail and I believe 154 lashes. If you look up the lyrics and the story behind the song, you will understand that it was a beautiful choice for the occasion, and the lyrics may very well be interpreted as being told by Narges herself, and/or her family, which she hasn't seen in many years. Her son and daughter live in France, and they came to Norway to receive the prize in their mother's place. All in all this was an extremely beautiful performance, one which suits Angelina perfectly, as she has helped raise millions of dollars through the years for various charity events, and she has even been seen in the streets of LA, helping underprivileged people. A tradition that she carries on from her childhood, where her Japanese grandfather and husband to her Iranian grandmother could be seen in the streets of Oslo, the capital of Norway, doing the same deeds. As an example, she donated the 50.000 USD that she got for winning Norway's Got Talent when she was 8, to charity. And also, she always performs barefeet to remind herself of an encounter she had with a girl from the Middle East when she was 6 years old, who was weighing people on the streets to make a living for her and her siblings, as they had no parents and were homeless. The girl had scarry feet and had no shoes, so Angelina gave her shoes to the girl. She later wrote a book about this encounter, called "Between Two Hearts", and became Norway's youngest published author at age 9. If you pay close attention, you will see that Angelina was yet again performing barefoot, staying true to herself in remembrance of the girl she met. Angelina is a beautiful human being inside and out, and an incredibly worthy artist to perform at this event. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas, buddy. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

In 2014, a little Norwegian girl was named and codified, a national treasure by both the King of Norway and the prime Minister. That same year, she sang for the Nobel peace prize winners all at the age of 8. In 2023, that same girl, now almost 18 will once again grace the Nobel peace prize stage and sing for the recipient once again. That young girl is none other than Angelina Jordan. Angelina at the 2023 Nobel peace prize concert. Angelina Jordan just made history. Angelina is the only solo singer under the age of 18 to have performed twice at the Nobel peace prize concert. Angelina singing, "unchained melody" accompanied by KORK. When I learned the story of Narges Mohammadi, this years recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, and the history of the song "Unchained Melody", I fully understood why Angelina Jordan chose this song. Enjoy! And have a Merry Christmas!

This is an amazing performance all the way around. Angelina matched the orchestra note for note. Her dynamics matched perfectly, and herbuse of her voice as a true instrument is ep8c here. Listen to those last botes in harmony with the strings. Amazing and perfect. Bravo AJ and Kork!

This video is a masterpiece that I have watched more than 50 times. Every time I hear the KORK Orchestra begin playing, I feel a surge of emotion because I know what is coming next: the most amazing rendition of Unchained Melody by the incomparable Angelina Jordan. She has a voice of an angel and a talent beyond words. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 Some ask why Angelina Jordan would pick Unchained Melody for this event, Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian human rights activist who received the prestigious award remains in Iran. One of the most popular and enduring love songs of all time, Unchained Melody, has a surprising origin. It was composed for a 1955 film called Unchained, which tells the story of a man who is incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. He yearns to be free and reunite with his wife and children, who are waiting for him outside. The song captures his emotions of loneliness, hope and longing, and has been covered by many artists over the years, but none in my lifetime of 76 years have conveyed such emotion as Angelina Jordan did at this performance. © Larry D. It will be the force of Ms. Jordan's persona and message, as well as her passion and dedication to her artistry, that will make Ms. Angelina Jordan's name synonymous with greatness. Rb

This verdsion of the song was spectacular in as much this song was written for the movie 1955 Unchained about a prisoner trying to reach out to his family and lover and this years prize was awarded to Narges Mohammadi whom is an activist prisoned in Iran for trying to help women,s right groups for more rights for the women in Iran. All the entertainers were Iranian and Angelina,s Grandma Mery was born in Iran so Angelina has her heritage there. Also Angelins was in Persia when she saw the homeless girl when she was 6yrs old so it was so special for Angelina and the orchestra she had sung with several times when she was living in Norway.❤

Also, Curtis, congrats on your comments, Those musicians of the KORK orchestra are immensly proud of Miss Angelina, as she is their nations treasure and they worked together with her before a few times. How could they not be proud of an up and coming GOAT.

Artists Extraordinaire%%%%% Angelina Jordan is a musical artist who paints a stunning soundscape with the emotion in her voice, just as Mery Zamani. her famous grandmother does with her paintings. Both of them are artists extraordinaire and both of them have a unique and remarkable talent that transcends the ordinary. Angelina Jordan's songs are like colorful paintings that evoke a range of emotions and sensations in the listener, while Mery Zamani's paintings are like lyrical poems that capture the beauty and mystery of life.. © Larry D. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 (the charity work of Angelina Jordan is only one of the many things that makes her so special.) Angelina Jordan's historical journey is captivating, as she showcases her talent at the age of17 with a voice that transcends time and space, Angelina Jordan mesmerized the world with her rendition of "Unchained Melody" at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in 2023. Accompanied by the KORK orchestra, the 17-year-old singer paid tribute to Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian human rights activist who received the prestigious award, and remains in Iran. Angelina Jordan's performance was a testament to her artistic maturity and versatility, as well as a promise of more musical wonders to come. © Larry D. Pifer

Curtis, thanks for your reaction to Angelina's tribute to Narges Mohammadi, this years recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Today, December 19, 2023, Narges is scheduled to go on trial in Iran. She has been on a hunger strike while in prison for being an outspoken advocate for human rights, especially women. Angelina is crying out for the world to join in a loud chorus, demanding Narges be set free.

Thank you Curtis, wonderful reaction with our Angel. This is taking place Oslo City Hall Square, a converted 1872 train station where the Nobel Peace Prize center is located. Kind of wish the announcer had at least eluded to the fact she is Norwegian and back in her home country...that disappointed me. This performance with the supreme Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) is simply one of the most beautiful renditions ever done in such a respectful and sincere manner, and also the perfect song choice for this event as well. Merry Christmas 🥰🥰🎄🎄☃☃

Curtis, we have a few "black" people here in Europe, but historicaly the northern parts of Europe were of pale scin color. I am NOT talking about that racist crap!!! I am talking about human history. The more south you go in Europe and Africa, the darker the scintones become. Remember on the map Norway is as far north as Alaska. The more sun beats down on people the more darker the scin gets over million of years. Nowadays, fugitives from around the world come to Europe to survive, because of wars, poverty and so on. We all need to adjust to make a better world, where people can life in peace and harmony, regardles of religion, cultur, and nationality. OK, Sorry man, sometimes the teacher, I never was and the history nerd, that I am comes through. Peace to your and yours. May the force be with you😁😇. Elmar from Germany/Europe

Hey mate , first time here. Great to see a passionate reactor , but mate , for someone who enjoys an orchestra so much , you sure do like to talk heaps. It’s ok to chat , don’t get me wrong, please , and I know where to look if I want to hear it uninterrupted, but just a HINT that might help smooth out your natural tendencies , and that is ,BEFORE resuming, JUST REWIND a few bars , or better still , a singing phrase or 2, and that will help support the overall ambience .I wish you luck with your channel 🤗🤭🙋🏻‍♀️ Re BORIS , he is an original reactor to Angelina and he’s a guru , amongst others , on all things Angelina .He was the first reactor to compile a playlist of her reworked covers, I haven’t seen it for many months now , but there were in excess of 250 in Angelina ‘s remake catalogue of his ;that was only up to 14 yrs of age .I do believe he has released many of her Song lists volumes 1-6? 💪💟✌️

Thanks for your wonderful comments and insight into Angelina and her music. As you encourage your viewers to like and subscribe to your channel, please do the same for your featured young artists like Angelina. Reactors would not have thriving channels without the artists, and they certainly deserve your support. The link to the original video is appreciated, but also include the official KZfaq channels as well as any social media such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok if possible.
