@@parcaleste I agree but it followed Helldorado which was really quite a weak album, and Helldorado followed KFD which (despite how much I like it) did not seem to get good reviews because of its industrial sound. So after two "flop" albums, they kind of lost their spot in the limelight. On top of that, they were taking a long time between albums, with 2-3 year gaps. So it just got missed by most people.

I really should listen to more WASP as this is the only song I've heard of their's. However, with that being said, I absolutely love this song. That build-up, the riff, the solo, the lyrics, this song is the total package. Thanks and keep up the awesome work.

You just earned a follower. WASP is a hidden treasure in rock and roll. They got famous for a song called fuck like a beast, but have evolved over the years to much more than that. Blackie is a born again christian now and still rocking years later. When it comes to lyrics blackie is the best. My dad died a few years back. In my family we don't process that shit in public. Angry is something we do, but sadness and crying is not. Anyway i was in my shop and had youtube on random and a song by WASP came on called Miss You. Brought me to tears immediately. The man hit everything i felt in a few words. I owe Blackie for that really so if he ever reads this...thanks brother. You got me through a tough patch.

Wasp is one of the greatest bands of the 80s and 90s. This song tells the deep story of satan and how much his influence has impacted time. The video shows that and the song says it all. Blackie is a great song writer and this band is definately worth looking into. You will be impressed. 80's Wasp is more about sex but as they approached the 90's they got darker and deeper with the lyrics.

@@danijelbalakovic127 I mean, I agree. But you could definitely take this as the song stating that Satan having influence on people, considering that the song talks about religion, praising a god, etc. Especially since the song portrays the idea of Charisma as a god who is, as you could probably tell, charismatic. Of course, you could also just leave it as the song portraying the idea of charisma as a “God of Charisma”, rather than it simply being Satan. It’s all up in the air for interpretation.😉

I appreciate the reaction dude. I haven't listened to WASP in probably 20 years and I was blown away at how good this one is. I saw them at the War memorial in Nashville somewhere around 86 and became a huge fan. Getting older and the numerous line-up changes made me drift away from them but it's really cool to rediscover them.I can recommend Blind in Texas, Ballcrusher, Wild Child ,Easy Livin', Restless Gypsy, and the Infamous Animal (F**k like a beast) off the top of my head.

Came here after the Chainsaw Charlie reaction. Great stuff. WASP has pretty quickly become my favorite band. So many incredible songs. Stuff from flashy dirty 80s rock to deeper songs like this, they have it all. Honestly I think from beginning to end, The Headless Children is the best album I've ever heard. Highly recommend! Even their latest album, Golgotha gets a little unnecessary hate. Lyrically there are a lot of Christian references, which isn't my bag but damn the album rocks either way. Great stuff!

Thanks for doing more WASP. Would love to see you go back to the earlier stuff though - I Wanna Be Somebody, I Don't Need No Doctor, School Daze, Blind In Texas, Inside the Electric Circus, Wild Child, etc - it really was the classic era of the band, and a great snapshot of the music world before the everything devolved into this PC insanity it seems to be suffering from now. If WASP started today, rather than then, doubt they would have seen a single album released.

I love pretty much all W.A.S.P. eras. Sure there are weaker albums, but there are some killers as well. Most of them are solid. Many of them are underrated. For a hard-hitting song, try Heretic (The Lost Child). For something more melodic and emotional, try Golgotha. For something more of a ballad, try Forever Free or Hold on to My Heart. For something funky, try The Real Me (original by The Who).

Cool song. Yeah, the song is obviously in a religious context. It's basically about following charismatic "God-like" figures & the ensuing battles between good and evil, some in the name of God/religion. The "ss" sound may represent the serpent (Satan), & "I Am" (God). "I'm the Alpha-Omega man" (God-like man), "I'll show you who I Am (God)" represents the God-like man demonstrating he's like God. This could easily describe Jesus as well. In the 3rd-Century, De Principiis, Book II, Chapter VI, On the Incarnation of the Christ, Origen described Jesus as "the God-Man." Specific people & groups seem to be referenced in the song, & organized religion itself is a target too. Considering the overarching theme, we could safely add certain evangelical TV preachers to the list as well.

Wasp is amazing. Been listening to them forever. There are lots of deep messages in their music like this song. Unholy Terror is my favorite song of theirs (unholy terror/charisma) but Headless Children also is amazing. As all their songs are. Megadeth also has many good messages in their Music. United Abominations is probably my favorite of their records. Also Forever Free is a fantastic Wasp song with a little different somewhat more light of a message than Charisma and Headless Children and I love the Ballad of it too. Fantastic...The message I got from Charisma is a bit different than just following this version though. Wrap myself in the American flag is about All American Presidents not just the ones listed here. If I remember correctly in the Album it tells you what each lyric is about as I read through it all.
