This game was made with a lot of love. It might be the best KOF of all, definitely the best 2d KOF

As much as I do actually like the visuals of KOF15, it's kind of sad that we will most likely never see 2D art like this again. The HD sprites and backgrounds in KOFXIII were absolutely insane!

There is something magical about having all the characters from various games in the background interacting with each other. It brings everything all together.

I always loved the backgrounds in these games. They’re all so detailed. The cameo of the character at the computer-his hand moving on the keyboard and the cup of tea /coffee by him.

These are so charming.... These cameos are great, and those 2D backgrounds are pure art. And only SNK can pull such great stuff without looking forced or out of place.

Geez... there were somes I've never noticed like Krauser, Kain, Eiji Kasumi and some more. SNK really made a lot of the unplayable characters make at least an appearance in the game! That's just amazing!

love the usa sports team, youd think theyd be lame but theyre cool af. character designs and their moves. Also wish duck king would make a comeback. I love his idle animations and how groovy his moves are, dude is a pretty strong character too.

KOF XIII is still in 2023 Undefeated. Simply the Best KOF of the Franchise with the Best Artistic Direction. Every character looks mean, overtrained, buffed, super musclar, terrific and magestic like coming straight out of the manga. KOF XIII was literally the "Street Fighter III" of SNK.

Never really noticed how the general crowd of people look very cartoonish compared to the actual fighters/cameo characters. Also smooth af animations, had fun playing this game when it use to be in chinatown fair.

The attention to detail in this game is truly admirable. What I never liked about KOFXIII, is exactly that, all the changes made in XI, and the playable characters there, simply became npcs to display at the stages, while the game reverts to the KOF 94/95 status quo, only god knows why.

I like how this game implies that the Samurai Shodown characters arrived on present-day Earth sometime between after KOF 12 & before KOF 13. Though this does leave me wondering... aside from the protagonists we see here (Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Galford, Charlotte, Hanzo & Cham Cham) and later Darli Dagger & Mizuki Raijoshin (who both appear in KOF 15 with the latter most likely being the reason Nakoruru joined the King of Fighters tournament last year), what happened to the other members of the Samurai Shodown cast, both pre & post-reboot?

So many of those characters I would love to see as playable. I'm from the PS1/PS2 era so pretty much all of those characters that appeared between the KoF 97 and KoF 2003 I would like to see as playable.
