I've been finding a lot of older Barbie Fashionistas and Made To Move Dolls at Value Village, and I sometimes find random clothes from Fashionistas and Fashion Packs on Thrift Stores Dolls. And I always hate it when Value Village keeps changing the prices of the Dolls. They started off at $2.49 which is still good, but then they increase the price to $3.49, to $4.49, and to $5.49.

Being in the Uk we don’t have any thrift stores and the sales in stores are never as good as America. I might start going to car boots in the summer to go doll and action figure hunting

as a long time LEGO and retrogames collector and a newbie Barbie collector, I envy you americans, Just like japanese people you have some of the most passionate hobbyists and your market does acknowledge this by giving you many opportunities to find another man's trash/treasures at thrifts stores or getting insane sales at your big retailers. I wanna visit US real bad.

I live in a rural area of Tennessee, and there is only one thrift shop in my area that regularly has Barbies. Normal unboxed price is $3USD, but were half price in December. Most of them need little more TLC than a good bath, shampoo, and style, but rarely do they have shoes. I used to live in Memphis where I'd frequently go to 6 thrift stores in a day, but that was before I got into Barbie. Because the area is so rural, I sometimes feel like I'm taking dolls from needy kids, but there are so many resellers here that I got over it. The online market has changed thrift store pickings a lot IMO: the online auctions and shops the big name stores have (like Goodwill and Salvation Army) means a lot of dolls never make it to the shelves, and the many ways to sell used dolls online - and the ease with which you can check values on your phone - means hopeful resellers snag them up when they are available. Availability and affordability varies from place to place, whether we're talking new dolls or used.

Even today in NZ, we basically only get half of existing play line dolls & a couple collectors dolls. It’d B a shock 2 find any well-conditioned fashion doll in an op shop. Getting a nicer one means getting expensive international shipping.

I sometimes have some luck finding good stuff around thrift stores or flea markets, and it isn't always super cheap I do sometimes find nice stuff, like vintage Barbie dolls with kinda nice clothing, or just a good lot of vintage and modern Barbie clothing, like the last lot I've bought, that I even found Chelsea shoes and clothing, and even one of the real people inspired Barbie dolls dress (the hidden figures doll), for something between 25 and 50 cents a piece/a pair). Sometimes I have to repair it, and sometimes it's ok. But sometimes I have to rely on Ebay to find something I want, and they're expensive, and that's how I've been lurking less on online stuff (the shipping also affects a lot). But I keep on watching content like yours to get inspired! This is a expensive yet satisfying hobby for me, and I know that's the same for the rest of the community. I live in a small city in Georgia and the Thrift stores don't usually have any Barbies that are decent. I haven't gone to a thrift store in years because the last time I went I didn't find anything. I will have to go and check one out though. The mermaid dolls where such a find. Also want to let you know that there is a app called " Lens" that you can download on your phone that identifies a lot of items. I screen shot you Spectra doll and she came up, you were correct she os called "Lacey". I enjoyed your video.

McKay's is honestly almost more of a pawn shop than a thrift store, since they buy their stock from people--I might even go so far as to say it's close to Mandarake, just with way more emphasis on media than toys I had a Happy Family Allan and realized that his sculpt looks like Tango Ken But Smiling, which was a very strange realization given how serious the Tango Ken sculpt is

I would love to have a Stardoll barbie one day! They are based on a online flash game that I used to be obsessed with as a kid! It was a fashion "paper doll" game, like a dress up game but more social in nature. The fashions are based on the in game stores, pink on is "Pretty n'Pink" (if I'm not mistaken on the spelling) and the alt one is from "Fallen Angel". Another interesting fact is that their body is based on the game's "paper doll" body :]
