I remember playing sonic heroes with a mouse it acted as a joystick where the center of the screen was the center of the joystick so you had to move the mouse back to the center anytime you wanted your character to stop moving forward or backward or wherever. It was kind of fun in that I'm playing with the stupid controls kind of way.
