@@titanlord9267 Indoors MG controls especially tend to cover only 1 side, to get the 360 degrees angle you need to put an mg on the hatch, which this tank happens to not have. Ivan also covers the sights (driver, gunner, and mg) using cloth found on container covers. He broke the MG after some swing and imitates chatter to pretend that there is more Soviet soldiers than him leading the Germans to thought they had walked into an ambush. He had no rifle when he struck the tank. He held that axe because he was unable to reach his rifle from his current cover. He found the wood chopping axe not far behind him, and it was the only weapon he had. He was only able to reach his rifle after taking out the machine gun, and when they were about to get out. He left it by the potato stock, and DID NOT have it in the beginning.

So the actual story is that he was attacked while he was cooking by one tank and he did use an axe and rifle to destroy the machine gun on the tank and then he covered the tank with a tarp wich made it so the Germans were blind making them surrender and he held them captive till his comrades got back. Update: after watching you got 99 percent of it correct. There were 3 to 4 tanks not two.

If there's a fine line between insanity and bravery...wouldn't that mean he was close to insanity...? Rather than far from it?

One thing a lot of people don't realize about tanks is just how vulnerable they can be to infantry. Heavy armor is essentially a mobile defensive fortification; like any fortification it needs to be properly supported or else it will be outflanked and overrun. Even in the modern day -- over in Ukraine -- we're seeing just how effectively infantry with Javelin missiles can deal with Russian MBTs. Although, I'm not sure there's a lot you can do in the field to improve your chances against a Javelin....
