As someone who has lived in the region all my life, the general public has been fully aware of New Madrid since at least the 1980s. Almost all local governments, from the big cities down to the little towns, do have earthquake plans. And we are trying retrofit as much as we can. Just remember we're talking about tens of thousands of structures spread across several states, often in communities that have to pinch pennies just to supply water and sewer service. Modern buildings are built to standards that can survive earthquakes. The biggest issue is the massive number of old and historic masonry buildings that are literally everywhere.

Been in Missouri all my life, started looking into quakes about a decade ago. Around 5 years ago I noticed an uptick in small quakes (or tickles is how I explained it to my grandkids) they stayed under a 1.2, they went up between ,2 and,,4 every years for several years. I stopped watching them about 2 years ago when we hit an average of around 2.6 per year. It is coming, I think once we hit about a 3.6 or so the plate will move more. Not positive, but from watching people who pay more attention to them than me seems to be the way it goes.

I'm in California and have been through Big and small. Tips may help...First if your in the zone just lower items from walls and high places. 2nd have extra can food, water, petfood, some cash in small bills. If your feeling a surge of quakes do not sleep with bedroom doors closed because they can get jammed and you will be stuck in rooms. Also store water in sturdy jugs for toilets and whatever. Don't buy cheap gallon jugs of water unless your transferring.

@@CortexNewsService and what do you think of the numerous rials closures happening Today due to sink holes appearing, buckling if land, train derailments, bridges collapsing or being closed for maintenance due to unexpected structural damage etc? The Faulnis already under stress and recent 3.0 quakes have been noticed on the USGS! Please be ready to survive because we are ALREADY seeing the pre cataclysmic signs ready to blow off any moment! Out Earth is wobbling and the reversal of magnetic poles slowly undergoing. If you have or buy a battery powered clock, even better a few of them, you will witness how our governments are hiding from us what they know! Computers are showing a different time because they are updated worldwide, while the normal clocks show a difference of a few minutes throughout the year! Also look at the Moon and its craters. Some days, I witness Mare Crisium positioned at 1 o’clock (normal position) but within 24 hours it can show Mare Crisium positioned at 5 o’clock! WHAT IS INFLUENCING THAT?! Definitely NOT MANMADE. So, in my opinion, something huge is occurring and the public is being held oblivious as all mainstream media is CONTROLLED! Look at Etna, Iceland and the volcanoes along the fault lines! It’s crazy for mainstream media not to be calling our attention to these huge events at th level they should.

The range of where the quake was so large, I suppose there might have been millions affected but the area with the severe damage was not heavily populated. When that bad earthquake hit Oakland decades ago, suddenly everyone in the central USA was made aware that the new Madrid zone was due for a really big quake any time. We had earthquake preparedness PSA’s, and it was all over the news. Then about 5 years ago, geologists said the chances of a quake were decreasing, but it seems the pendulum has swung to the other side again

My wife and I were in our computer room, back to back, when the earthquake in Virginia happened. We both felt and watched our screens vibrate. The wife thought my mom was doing something weird upstairs and yelled for her to stop. I told her it was an earthquake and not Momma lol. OH, BTW I'm in western MD and our ground is more solid than the west coast, so earthquakes here are felt for much longer distances than there. I have no doubt we'd feel it if Madrid unleashes.

February 2023 I was given a vision, not a dream, of a major earthquake in this area that created an inland sea in the Ohio River Valley about the size of one of the Great Lakes. Tavel and commerce on land became impossible. All highways and rail lines were damaged. The economic fallout resulted in a famine for the USA. Timeline was given as late Winter or early Spring 2025. Humbly offered by a seer in Colorado.

It’s all in the heavens, pay attention to the stars!! Why do people really think all of these ancient cultures base everything off the stars?? The sun, the moon, the stars.. look up!! This is the year of the dragon. Has nobody listened to our ancestors??! Anyone remember the story of the dragon and the phoenix? Phoenix is a a part of the stars, dragon is a part of the stars.. Draco means dragon. We all know the fury the dragon brings in movies. These mythical creatures are based from our own stars. Phoenix is a bird that catches on fire, and is reborn from its ashes. Like in Harry Potter. The story of the Phoenix and the dragon is misinterpreted from then ancient writings. This story wasn’t about two people. It’s about the formations and cycles of our stars , our planets, the universe cycles.. in the misinterpreted story, The dragon aka draco and the Phoenix “fall in love”, and wrath happens all around, battles happen and all hell breaks lose everywhere around them bc they are together. Then eventually after everything settles, everything is peaceful. This refers to the volcanoes, storms, the war, the earthquakes, hurricanes, etc. it happens bc it’s our cycle and it’s natural. The sun is at its maximum cycle which brings our northern lights.. the earth switched poles. On its cycle in which our ancestors mastered the pattern. the stars told them which way north is. Ancient monuments direct at the sun and the light shines in based on our cycle each day. Why doesn’t anyone listen to what they tell us?? Why do people keep wasting their time with politics and growing bigger buildings, when they should always look to the skies.. “to the skies it defies” .. ring a bell? The astrologer / scientist predicted all of these times and warned us. He was right about 9/11, about Henry ||. And everything else. But ofc nobody listened. “Only the valiant will seize a chance.” I say no more.

The Lisbon earthquake of Nov. 1, 1755, if I'm not mistaken, was the most severe and widespread earthquake known in recorded history where we have at least some extant documentations. The exact magnitude is not known, but considering how large groups of people were killed so very far away from the epicenter gives us a good estimate. I would say it was between a 10.5 and 12.8 as would be measured on the Richter scale. Many died in Madrid, Spain; probably a lot more than the Roman Catholic controlled region would want to admit as it was a high Sunday Mass when it hit. Some estimate a total of 60,000 people died, but it looks to me that was the number who died in Portugal and Spain, alone. It was the aftershocks and Tsunamis that brought the number to a much higher total than 60K. Everyone over the course of over a million square miles were unsuspectedly affected.
