Keisuke was supposed to be the "Cool Guy" to save the day and basically do all the work for his friends, but ended up becoming one of the most useless in the cast... I like that.

I know I'm replying months later, but I think this is a translation thing. In Japanese, calling someone cool means that they're calm and level-headed.

Kyouko is either too nice or too dumb to live. If this house was more like the Spencer Mansion than the Mad Father's home, she'd probably be dead already. On the flip side we've got Kenta who is a genius next to his friends, knowing not to try and talk to insane people and planned ahead to fake his death so he can investigate with more freedom.

Damn if it was an anime, Kyouko's role wouldn't be played by an airhead. They would pick a scheming girl who knows how to lie to save her life. Something like: "Father, that girl is my best friend, I invited her today, don't kill her!" would have better results than "You lunatic! Don't touch her! You just can't accept the reality that your daughter's dead!" But well, that would invite more problems tho..

Murei's motivations actually remind me a lot of how Frankenstein started, with trying to bring the dead back to life. In that light, it's kind of ironic, because Victor Frankenstein was a shit father to his creation, while Murei's actions are tragically motivated by fatherly love.

so, the pages gave me the story. He kills female butler, takaheshi or whatever, then the mistress, then on the day before they got there, ryou took the photos, which made him mad, then on the night before they got there, he killed the butler, aka the writer of the pages and the guy who was dead in the kitchen, as Kenta said. and then ofc the master is the killer, he went 'insane' as the title states.
