I remember mowing my grandparents' yard and taking my $2 to the local gas station so I could spend it all on these. I also remember getting a hickory switch across my legs when I got home for "wasting money". I sold most of my 78's in college and bought my books. Didn't seem like a waste of money to me! Glad to see that I'm not the only card nerd from my generation.

thanks for the nice comment ! If we could only go back and have bought even more packs of these. these were 4 years before i started collecting, but as a kid i liked the cursive on front. i remember my mom getting mad at me when i spent $6.50 on a piece of cardboard in 1983.....it was a 1980 Henderson

That 1st pack was fire. Charlie Hustle gets my vote. I always get a good laugh from 70s cards. There are so many funny names,hair styles, and unflattering photos. There are plenty of great looking cards, tho as well.

That was a stud pack my friend. At least the first one was! Wow!!! It shows how 2 rips could have completely different experiences. Btw 75 is my favorite set....can't wait to see you rip it!

Fun video Snowman. Bought a lot of 78 baseball cards back in the day. Still have them buried in my card cabinet. My vote is #1 Andre Dawson followed by Pete Rose.

Awesome. However what's scary is grading is so iffy, as PSA or other grading companies are still so harsh when it comes to grading no matter how old a card is. I guess that's why sales are so high for anything before 1980.

Nice break, been enjoying the old school packs. First pack was definitely strong but the second pack had a Glenn Burke RC. I won't explain why he's famous but I sold a sharp, cello fresh copy about a year and a half ago for around $30. I should have graded mine, not too late for you though, that could be a 9. Cool breaks!

yes - OPC does not have the "Rose years" at all though.
