Imo is a flautist/flutist (flute player), and these vlogs will often take you behind the scenes of the life of a professional folk musician. Stand by for bits and bobs of live folk music and dance as they pop up in our day-to-day lives.
These videos will not generally feature recorded background music, making them extra suitable for people who aren't keen on pop music!
Follow this channel for occasional tips on caring for eczema, content relating to the flute, travel (particularly to Lisbon, Portugal), folk musician lifestyle, and to see what life is like for this little family in our corner of South Wales in the UK.

I grew up with my grandparents in the 60's and 70's in two corrugated asbestos prefabs in Pantyrawel, Ogmore Valley, South Wales - at 13 Hillside Terrace then 3 Dan-yr-Heol. One after the other, of course (not at the same time, haha). Very fond memories. Cosy and warm from the coal fire. Small outside but big inside - well designed. Three doors opening out to the front, back and one side of the building. Two decent sized bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom and central passageway with airing cupboard. How did they fit all that into one little building? We had lots of Wartime Utility Furniture that I love and now reproduce. Also had a washing machine with a mangle to squeeze the water out of the laundry after being washed. When they built new houses for us to move into, I found wartime gas masks in the cavity behind the airing cupboard.

My auntie lived in a prefab and I was always envious. There was a real hue and cry when they were pulled down and people rehoused. No one wanted to move and they were very happy in these little houses. That brings back memories. I never met anyone who wanted to move, but they had no say in the matter. It was in my aunt's prefab that I first heard a record of Elvis Presley singing One Night With You. Really enjoyed your continuing walk around the museum.

I don't think I'd have wanted to move either - they seemed like the perfect little homes. I liked reading about your first Elvis Presley experience. :¬)

I always seem to live in house that are at least a hundred years old. The first home I bought was built in 1857 by a pioneer fellow who was a covered wagon - oxen driver. One of the first houses built in Oregon. There is even a plaque on the front door accrediting me with it's discovery. I must say it was a challenge living there.

I have fond memories when I walk into Rhydycar cottages in St Fagan’s, my grandmother was born and lived there until they flooded and subsequently demolished in 1979. She was the youngest of 10 children, so there were 12 of them living in one cottage (it must have been a bit cramped though 😂)

For the life of me i cant understand why this type of housing isn't used to day? It would solve a lot of housing problems and homelessness? Relatively cheap to construct and erect? And a very realistic solution to the interim housing shortages! Untill we are able to build enough accommodation bfor all British citizens? I live in Wales nand where i live im quite literally surrounded by prefabricated house's?and to be honest even though i own my own house? It wouldn't bother me at all if i had to live in a prefabs house ? Home is what you make it ? And as long as it's warm and dry? ( Well thats all you need to be happy and content)? I know a lot of people who liv in prefabs either the bungalow type or a three bedroom type house ,all prefabricated Nothing wrong with them at all? Meny of the prefab residents i know love these home's ! And let's face it with today's technology and modern materials, practically anything is possible? We could in Britain , have some very nice prefabricated housing ! Respectful and dignified housing enough for everyone? At relatively low cost! In this day and age everyone in the UK should be able to have a home of their very own? No matter how much they can afford or not afford? Everyone is entitled to have warm dry comfortable place to be.
