Today AD takes you to the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, where adjacent to the iconic twists of Lombard Street lies a super luxurious estate like none other. Residence 950 encompasses a full city block, the equivalent of six regular-sized lots. Across more than 9,500 sq. ft. sits the 5 bedroom/6.5 bath main residence, joined by a lush garden to the personal wellness cottage - complete with sauna, steam room, massage area, and spa. Beneath the garden hides a personal art gallery, given natural illumination through built in skylights. A cantilevered, 4-sided infinity edge pool extends out towards the property line, offering a 270° view of San Francisco and the Bay (including the infamous Alcatraz island.) When it’s time to head out, residents can rotate one of their cars on the garage turntable before driving down the “Batcave” tunnel and emerging into the California night.

Value is very hard to explain. It's worth what someone is willing to pay. It's not worth 8 or 10 million. Maybe the construction and the lots cost that much, but now with the location and the houses prestige, it's worth much more. That's called a great investment.

Leah Martinez I know girl I’m from here, I’m in Orange County and have a friend going to Berkeley so I’m up there often. Because houses are 80 million doesn’t negate the fact that 40.5 million is a disgusting price tag for ..... this. The fact that 80 million is a price tag for a home is also disturbing. San Francisco has long had such an issue with housing. “The sunny weather, wow it’s so nice out, ooo CaLiFoRnIa” should only go so far. So sad the locals hardly can afford to live there. San Francisco is broken and this house is a joke. I know you’re not in opposition to me I’m just sad to see that money can be just thrown away to live in this “house”.

The process starts by finding disadvantaged children in other countries that are still forced to undergo gold fillings. In the most sustainable way, we pry the fillings from their teeth using sustainable tools, we then heat the gold using this nuclear reactor you see here. The gold is then poured onto a surface of ground panda bones, wherein the beauty of this home lies. @@thelowpro6908 completely agree. it's so empty, you could make that space so much more interesting than an "art" gallery.

@@cannoneq I think the idea behind is that they didnt have enough space for a gym, gallary and cinema. So they let the customer decide what they want and the Art gallary is an empty space so you could build an cinema/gym pretty easy there. And the target audience probably doesnt mind spending one million more to get a space that fits their needs perfectly. Especially when its reasonable priced at 40m

Hmmm what would be the best home to build in an earthquake zone? Let’s put a small cantilevered pool, a glass elevator, some grass above 1000 bottles of wine above precious art work above millions of dollars in exotic cars. What’s the worst that can happen?
@jonachs5316
@jonachs5316 4 жыл бұрын
to be fair, pools can actually act as dampers for earthquakes. I'm not sure how effective it would be on a house this size though as they're often used in high rise buildings, that or a large weight that is able to slide.
