"Think it's gonna be wartime or what?", It started a 20 year war and the world we live in now has changed completely because of this event. It's crazy how much that day changed everything.

"We haven't had a war in a long time." He says that like it was a bad thing. The worse thing about terrorists is they always achieve their goal of getting the masses to support these wars. People often become so callous that they openly admit they don't care about the innocent casualties. We're seeing that unfold now with the genocide in Gaza and the war in Ukraine.

That's my city. Atlanta, Georgia. I was five years old and in Kindergarten on September 11th, 2001. My only memory of that day was that there were no planes in the sky.

I was also 5, my family lived in Riverdale at the time, only thing I remember was my mom leaving work at Grady to pick me and my siblings up from school early. My dad was a AFD firefighter and he came home late that night because Atlanta was on high alert.

My brother worked near the World Trade Center on 9/11. He was 26 (I was 33). When the first plane crashed, he did not see it but he saw some people outside reacting (at first everyone thought it was an accident, as if the pilot was incompetent) but after the second plane crash is when everyone knew it was no accident. I had the day off, my 10-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter's schools called me to come pick them up (yes, they were in NYC at the time) so I did (school had to dismiss early because everyone was worried about what was happening in the world trade center).

You couldn't take your eyes off the tv that day. I think we as Americans all knew that this was an act of war. The world has changed we were no longer untouchable. Prayers to the victims.

Another cool clip, I have such a fascination with all things 9/11. Interesting to see at 0:46 how little lasting-impact Desert Storm had on Americans, the guy probably didn't even think of that as a war and was thinking back to Vietnam as the last one for the US. Also kinda funny to see a cutout of Sylvester Stallone's Driven, widely considered to be one of the worst racing movies of all time 😆

Ever since I uploaded this I was thinking the exact same thing "we haven't had a war in a long time" ... Another great comment 👍
@ragnakak Жыл бұрын
It wasn't that it wasn't remembered, it was just so quick and one-sided that it didn't have the same impact as a longer drawn--out war like WWII, Korea and Vietnam.

This brings back memories(bad). I worked for Firestone in Houston, Tx., at the Northline Mall. I opened the store that morning and remember watching the madness unfold on television. That was a horrible day for America.

I was at a Federal Transportation school that was a 5mins drive away from Pentagon and we had someone walk into our class saying "a plane just crashed into the WTC," and we're all sitting there just bewildered. Then another time, the same person walks in again and says "a 2nd plane crashed into the other WTC." Our instructor told us to continue with our studies, and about 30mins later we heard a loud explosion (BANG!), seconds later the fire alarm goes off and we're told to evacuate the building. I got my stuff and walked out and saw black smoke from the Pentagon, so I rushed it back to my hotel and saw the bar packed with people staring at the huge TV. I watched it and was completely shocked, just numb stricken by what was actually happening, I just couldn't believe it. I couldnt stand and I had to grab a chair at the bar and watch in terror. It was a sad and horrifying experience 😭😭😭😭

Who tf would be filming this and in this way? These are some strange videos. Why won't the creator provide any context to who is filming this. I can't imagine normal people being ok with someone up in their face filming them like all of these people seem to be. Weird.

Since there is time code on the top right, I’m assuming that this was news footage that was never aired. That would explain the randomness of where they were recorded and the higher quality that was available to the general public.
