It’s sad that her mother got torn from the family as well as her dad. Especially because she her sister Margot, the only member of the family who was there to comfort either burkansaw or achwitze. Of course there’s many other concentration camps, but those are the magic ones I heard about in her diary. If you don’t know Margot dies In one of the concentration camps. Soon after Anne died too. They fired because of a pandemic in the camp.

No, let me explain. Anne’s unedited diary (The Critical Edition) most often referred to version a, is written by Anne. However, there’s version b which most people have. It’s not “written” by her father per say, but it is strongly edited by her father, and Anne. Now, I noticed you said “it’s all fake”. Do you mean it’s all a myth? If so, you’re wrong. There’s little evidence on that.

I visited when I was 17 in 1976, the summer of a terrible drought across Europe. There were no lines. In fact, my boyfriend (now husband) and I were the only ones there. He finished up pretty quickly and waited outside. I had read Anne's diary seven times by then, and was tearfully trembling that I had finally made it there on my after-school, $3.00/hr job with no help from my parents. I climbed the ladder to her attic and immersed myself in how it felt to be there. No pushy tourists. No tech voices. Just me in Anne's family's empty house. I've been to 35 countries since that "no tourists" summer, sometimes 6 months out of the year, but nothing compares to that half day exploring Anne's house ALONE.

Since I read her book and then watched the movie I was really intrigued and wished one day to visit. Finally in 2019 after hosting an exchange student from Germany that stayed at my house in California, I visited Amsterdam and had the opportunity to visit this place. So many thoughts came to my mind while walking through the hideout place. It was definitely a wish come true. The people in Amsterdam are so nice. I had a magnificent time. I did buy my tickets online a month in advance and when I went in June there was not that big of a line, perhaps because it was drizzly during that time.

Visited and it was awesome. Just a FYI- if your traveling with very small children toddler to under 5. Parents you can purchase 2 tickets online or at the gate together. However, I would Not recommend taking small kiddies inside. One parent can watch the kids in the cafe that’s attached to the building while the other visits. And when mom or dad is finished mom or dad can have access to the front without waiting in long lines. Just show ticket with a special stamp. I witnessed lots of moms n dads that wanted to visit Anne’s house. Makes sense. We visited we had no kids but a couple had a small child that screamed wanted out and his parents refused. This packing Frank house house is emotional for lots of visitors. This isn’t a museum for small toddlers because space is so tight with so many visitors. It was beautiful and seeing Actress Shelly Winters Oscar at the end before the cafe entrance🎂☺️

I fully agree. Once I went to Westerbork where a lecture was being held by a survivor. Sometimes I couldn't hear what she said and it was difficult to concentrate because right behind me there were a small child screaming and crying the whole time. That kind of egotistical parents I really despize, there is no fun for small children whatsoever when you visit these kind of places and you ruin other people's experience.

Funnily enough I came away with an immense feeling that the people who risked their lives to feed and keep the families informed in the attic....were true heroes...

Thanks for that. There are many interesting documents, of course, but one of the most interesting (and chilling) is the actual train selection list seen in the background at 2:43 (yellow sheet), listing the entire Frank family in alphabetical order. Anne is number 308 on the list, I believe. Out of 1019 total. They were on the very last train that left from Westerbork to Auschwitz.

Anne supposedly died in a camp from disease but her criminal father escaped capture! That's a story by itself. A man on the run from prosecution for financial crimes the likes of which bankrupted Germany under the Wiemar government, evades law enforcement but falls to shelter his family from arrest. Then he writes a diary in ball point pen and sells it to a world full of dupes roped in by emotion that is generated by fraud. It makes sense because he was about to go on trial for bank fraud.

Not in Europe idiot. Argentina is not in Europe, moron! Ball point pens weren't sold in Europe for years afterwards. And even in Argentina they were just underway and not in widespread use. This is the equivalent of saying that people in Africa were driving cars the same year that Ford rolled out the very first Model-T. You're an idiot with a child's mind, so you throw infantile tantrums because you want to believe a fairy tale.

@@kevinchurch5934 There was a thing as airplanes back then and shipping routs people sold goods using both methods remember Otto was a business man I am sure he had connections with many well to do people that would have access to a f-ing ball point f-ing pen.

I was a person who don't like reading books, novels ,etc.In our school there was a magazine published for us ,it was a 40 page kids magazine and there will be a surprise waiting for us in the last page of this magazine which was a scratching box ,my main intention in buying this book was just for scratching that box and not for reading. However one day I just simply turned the pages of this magazine just for fun , suddenly I came across the image of a little girl ,there was something spcl about this image and I was just stuck in it, with a curiosity I started reading that page about this personality and it was something which changed my life to a high extent.I came to know that there is a diary written by this person and from the next day I was in search for this particular book published but however I was not able to find it,my journey continued for a month and at last I got that book and daily I spent most of the time reading this one ,and at last finished reading this one with a spcl kind of feeling deep inside☁️ This was the book of a the brave little angel Anne Frank, who changed my life🙂 And now I am addicted to our story and started reading a lot of books 🤗

According to the most reliable source, it was a a man called Willem van Maaren. He died in 1979, I believe, without being convinced. Though there’s also evidence to support the guilt of a woman named Ans van Dijk who was known for betraying Jewish families. She died in 1948.

He did not want to talk much about it but I thought it was interesting that somebody remembered being in school with her
