That brought it all back to me from when I visited Auschwitz last year. It's not a place that you should want to go to, it's a place that you need to go to. Before I went I didn't realise the scale of evil which took place there. Even after my visit it took me several hours to try to comprehend it. It's such an emotional place that I will never forget.

I visited this hallowed ground three weeks ago. It is life-changing. I went with my teenage grandsons. It was a sobering effect for all of us. I did notice something that archaeologists on site have also noticed.... There are trees and grass but no birds, no squirrels anywhere.

As you said mate, it’s heartbreaking isn’t it. Visiting places like this is a must so that we never forget what happened. There’s a camp / museum not far from Gdańsk which is definitely worth visiting too.

Shocking mate! Can’t believe the size and scale of the crimes that happened at that place! It is a must visit tho! I don’t think anyone could leave that place and not feel something! I stood in the middle of the site and just thought how terrible it must of been! I was just worried about putting this out originally! But it needs to be seen to be believed mate!

I visited Auschwitz in early 2023. As I walked around I tried to picture the events that took place where I was walking just over 80 years previously but still just about in living memory. I found it hard to comprehend the horrific treatment of the victims, the almost minute by minute battle to stay alive and the sheer scale of the murder. Before the war I could imagine the area was untainted and nice and Auschwitz just a normal Polish army barracks. At the end of the tour our guide said "if it could happen here, it could happen anywhere". That really struck with me, she's right. This could happen again in different circumstances somewhere else in the world.

Thanks for posting this. By pure co-incidence i watched "Schindlers List" a few days ago which left me traumatised & will be for some time. What these Germans did to these innoncent people is impossible to understand how cruel a human can be to another. It looked like a strong, disturbing tour to take. What was going on with someone always putting a green torch on you every now & again.

I went to Auschwitz in 2012 and you couldn't film or take any photos at all I'm glad that's changed when I was going around the huts I was physically moved and I don't mind saying I had tears coming down my face. My late grandfather was a Special Forces Commando during WW2 he liberated Dachau and I'm sure that affected him but he never talked about it. It was my Late Grandmother who told me about his wartime experiences.

Why is the door of the train wagon closed? The door should be open and visitors should be able to see inside the wagon. Also, why are the doors of some barracks and buildings there locked and why are visitors prohibited from seeing these places? Please ask questions or make a request to the authorities on this subject.

I am a Jew. I’ve watched every documentary film and video about Auschwitz I could find because I feel it’s my duty to do so. For what it’s worth, I have two comments. The first has to do with the camp itself: I really wish they hadn’t planted trees or grass. The greenery seems to soften everything, making it all seem somehow livable instead of horrifying. They needed to have left it alone; stark and bleak; hell, here on earth. My second comment is about the music. I wish you had chosen perhaps a classical piece with violins playing sadly in minor chords. For me, your music started out sounding relaxing, spa-like, then morphing into the ever constant drum beat that became a distraction. I also wish you had lingered a bit longer on each written sign, as well as a few of your narratives. It was impossible to catch everything you thought important enough to highlight. Lastly, especially now, in the midst of the resurgence of antisemitism, your video is extremely necessary. My heart is gutted for all the Holocaust survivors who experienced true hell on earth over 75 years ago, came to the United States for safety and are seeing, and Heaven forbid, experiencing horrific antisemitism all over again. And I really wonder, how much more can they take? And I am inconsolable. We cannot forget. WE WILL NEVER EVER FORGET.
