Patrick & Neri Williams welcome us into their shop & home, based in the World Heritage Site of Bath, England. The interior design duo have transformed a truly unique space in the heart of Bath, which sees Georgian, Regency and Victorian architecture converge. With a deep respect for the history and soul of the building, they have sensitively renovated the Grade II-listed space.
“In 1890, three very eccentric Victorians joined forces,” explains Patrick as he stands in the front-of-house shop. “What they did with the building was to completely reformat the space. All of the internal walls at ground and first-floor were removed, as was the ceiling to create this fantastic double-heighted space.” Watch the full episode of Design Notes with Patrick & Neri Williams and tour Berdoulat in Bath.

I wish he wasn't embarrassed to show us the living room area despite it looking tatty from the dog chewing up things. We are so obsessed with perfection these days. Great tour and characterful shop and home.

what a shock to hear the name Cater and wine merchant together around a minute 45. My great-great grandmother's last name was Cater and I believe her father's family were in the wine trade. I have no idea if Richard Cater was a relative, but I can't help but assume so! So cool to be touched so closely by history, while watching this video of a beautiful space so far away from where I live, on the west coast of North America.

I am so touched by seeing the video. Patrick and Neri used to have one of the most beautifulest b&bs in whole Somerset (my opinion), with the same name, Berdoulat. I am still very sad, they closed it, but so lucky to “watch” from them. All the best!

Patrick and Neri own, work and live in a whimsical and magical space with a very rich history that they are so aware of. I love that because there are a lot of people who don't think of who and what came before us. I also love their tribute to Patrick's late mother on the wording of the bookcase. Beautiful space! I would suggest that they use a different model for the “cutlery draining pot” (moule à faisselle). I have those which have three or four little feet as well as a draining dish thus the pot is not set on your countertop in a pool of draining water. Also regarding the cannelé shaped ceiling rose, maybe sell cannelé copper molds in the shop? Definitively more useful with great results.

The colours in the bedroom 😍 ❤ on my screen it comes off as a deep coral pink against a deep green blue gorgeous 🙌🏾 I would only say they may need a lighting expert the space would come more alive and feel warmer. Thanks for letting us in. I looove it 😌❤

We were in Bath for a few days and wanted the visit the shop after watching this video.. Amazing space .. I must have looked like I couldn't afford anything as the owner completely ignored me - didn't acknowledge or engage with me.. The space was even better in real life.
