It's amazing walking into that theater. The entrance is so seedy and secretive. The event starts before the show does!

I’ve seen the London show twice and it was amazing both times. The setting was wonderful, and you are fully immersed in the show!

The costumes and sets are supposed to be uncomfortable, that’s the whole point. They’re fairly accurate to how cabarets were in Germany in the 1930s. All you need to do is Google “1930s German cabaret” and you’ll see all of the amazing costumes! It also creates a wonderful juxtaposition between the curated cabaret and the stark reality of their lives.

Tom Scutt should have stuck to the scenic design, at most. The "costumes" for the Emcee and the actress playing Sally Bowles look ridiculous and distracting. The theater-in-the-round concept is annoying as well, I would say this show works better with a platform stage like in a club or maybe a thrust stage. What was the director thinking? I regret having to say it but they should have brought in other people who knew better how to serve the characters and content of this show.

This production and costumes are so bright and colorful. It doesn't have the dark, seedy undertones needed. Feels more circus like.

I don't think you've seen it. It was fantastic.
