I agree what's the point in being exceptional at something 8f you can't be rewarded for it? We applause athletes for their exceptional skills and even pay them very well! Chess players spend years developing their skills gaining advantages to win through their intelligence! What's the difference? Video Gamers even though I don't really get why its taken so seriously, I'll admit when my friend was named the best player in the United States and like the third in the world. I had to show some respect for the achievement and I understood just how much time and dedication went into it for him to make it that far, I applause him for getting to that point! He's got a skill that he's basically A master at. But he hasn't been 86thd from playing just cause of how good he is at it! Honestly if these casinos were smart they would offer this guy A job working for them! Otherwise they're just gonna keep playing this game of cat and mouse rather than gaining insight on his tactics and upping their own game in trying to catch guys like him...?

It is the most un-American thing that is commonly accepted in our society--telling some, no, treating them like a criminal because they're simply and ONLY using their brain to play a game completely within the rules using information equally available to all players.

They vary in quality, but this is more true than not. Professional casino gambling is far from glamorous. AP's do what they gotta do to get the money.

He did have other methods than card counting. Hole card reading is insanely profitable. Tracking the shuffle does give the player an edge as well ... though very difficult and mistakes can be costly. May have had other methods as well that were not discussed. If he was playing 5 deck shoes with 2 decks cut off 120 an hour is generous at 25-500. Darrel Purpose would say the same!

Probably a bit of both. All is speculation. At a certain point they were gambling addicts who used a workable and ill advised method during that period. Then the main character went way too much and with too much effort as some kind of illicit career. Interesting docu, nothing more, nothing less.

To have a spread that will generate anything close to 6-18k EV in a single trip would be multiple 6 figures. That’s a 1% of the 1% kind of thing, not realistic for 99% of true AP’s. Plus the more your betting usually the closer the casino will analyze your play, especially if your card counting.

There are more than enough 3-2 tables don’t worry. Casino won’t make money if they change the rules too much because no one will play. CSM machines are rare because they are expensive and maintenance is as well. They aren’t very common. Automatic shufflers are fine (just like poker tables have) because it saves the casino time from having a dealer shuffle. Just stay away from CSM

You're right, but the majority of American casinos still don't use CSM's. They're expensive, and players don't like them, non-advantage players included.
