I remember when we had old RL Bedford trucks. Ex WW2!!!. Real shit bangers that could barely sustain 40mph. But you could fix the buggers with a pair of pliers and a bit of No8 wire. 4cyl petrol 4WD. Bloody things could go anywhere. We got new Merc Unimogs during my time and wiz bang V8 Landrovers Both weren't a patch on the old bangers. LR's kept over heating in low gear. The Unimogs where good until they developed a problem then forgetaboutit. You'd have to call up EME to come fix the bugger.
