Life thrives in the biggest desert of India!
It is so big that Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand can fit inside it!
85% of the Thar desert is in India, and 15% of it is in Pakistan. It is the 10th largest desert in the world!
The Thar Desert is home to around 2.2 crore people (that’s equal to the population of Jammu & Kashmir).
It is also the most densely populated desert in the world with 83 people per square kilometre!
Because it receives the lowest annual rainfall in all of India, the people of Thar have to constantly face a water crisis
But what I saw in my seven days in Thar reinforced my opinion that the people of the desert are resilient people who create life out of barren land and live a full life!

I'm from Jaisalmer and I remember as a teenager I would always ask my grandfather ki humaare poorvajo ko ye kya jagah pasand aai rehne ke liye mast kahi thandi hari bhari hill station pe nahi bas sakte they? And my grandfather would always laugh and say this same thing everytime "Beta apna ghar apna ghar hota hai"....years later when I went on a looonnng trip covering major tourist places in India, at the end of the trip I was LITERALLY DYING to get home and let me tell you THE MOMENT I entered Thar, I got it all and I FINALLY understood why my grandfather said what he said! I am not at all emotional as a person but I LITERALLY got so overwhelmed seeing APNA GHAR. Soooooo many pyaar bhari feelings were there in our hearts for our home but all we said was....chalo bhayi akhirkaar laut ke buddhu ghar ko aaye!

मैं गुजरात के काठियावाड़ से हूं और पिछले साल दस दिन राजस्थान का टूर किया था,,तब जैसलमेर,,थार, बीकानेर,जोधपुर,, चित्तौड़,नाथद्वारा,, राजसमंद,,चारभुजा,, कुंभलगढ़ जैसे बहुत सी जगह घूमे,,राजस्थान में घूमने के लिए बहुत कुछ है,,थार तो सचमुच में यादगार है कि इंसान प्रुकृति के सामने कितना तुच्छ है,,पर अब हर ट्यूरिस्ट स्थान पर बाहरी लोगो को ठगने का काम ज्यादा है,,खासकर टूरिस्ट को ठगने में राजस्थान काफी है

I'm from Mahad, Raigad district of Maharashtra. I recently visited Rajasthan last June. It was my first visit and I explored all such experiences during the trip. People of Rajasthan are too friendly and ready upto the mark to help us with the innocence. Their culture characterizes a beautiful charm in its own attracting tourism to a great extent. I had visited 3 Js, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur each city defining its own type of colours i.e Pink, Golden, Blue. I just love Rajasthan❤

मैं बीकानेर से ग्रेजुएशन करा था 4 साल हॉस्टल में रहा था वहां पर 5-7 दिन में पानी आता था कई बार तो बिना नहाए रहना पड़ता था और पानी पीने की भी प्रॉब्लम होती है और एग्रीकल्चर फसलों के लिए भी बड़ी समस्याएं हैं😢 भ्रष्ट cruption सबसे ज्यादा गांव के सरपंच करते हैं राजस्थान में भ्रष्टाचार के कारण आज गांव में नहर नहीं पहुंच रही है

13:06 वो नीम का पेड़ है ओर इसके फल को निमोली कहते है हमारे यहां। एक बात और कैर की सब्जी तो खैर के फल से ही प्राप्त होती है लेकिन सांगरी तो खेजड़ी के लगती है। खेजड़ी का फल जब कच्चा होता है तो उसे सांगरी कहते है और जब सांगरी पक जाती है तो उसे खोखा कहते है।

2 months ago i visited jaisalmer with my friends . Instead of staying in hotel we decided to visit local remote areas and not gonna lie we have gone to same market of bikaner . Ate dal bhati with churma and ghee . When we were inside the car a local who was very sweet offered us clean nd pure drinking water . After thanking him we also visited that "TANKAS" which act as a reservoir for Rajasthanis . And inside that the water was also cool and fresh . In some of houses they have also done rainwater preserve 🦋🧿❤️. Thank you for making a cinematography on every side of the thar 💗 it mesmerized many of my memories

I'm from Pakistan. I saw a school in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, with a very well-designed building. The best thing is that even though the temperature in the desert is 50°C, inside the school, it is only 18°C. I really appreciate the hard work of the construction team of this school. I agree with the gentleman in the video. You'll find the free water for public everywhere in Rajasthan despite being one of the driest place in the country. Ironically, that's no longer the case even in water rich parts. Thanks to the water bottles.

Yes those fruits were ‘Pilu’, they become yellow purplish in color once they fully ripe. Eating unripe ones can cause mouth ulcers.

मैं हनुमानगढ़ (राज.) से हु। यह सरस्वती (घग्गर/नाली) नीचे बसा शहर है। यहां पर कालीबंगा ( सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता) भी है। यहां पर गोगामेड़ी (संप्रदाय सद्भावना)और भटनेर दुर्ग (295 ईस्वी) भी है, जिसमे मामा भांजा की मजार है।

The government should think an appropriate solution for the water scarcity in these places so that people can lead their life healthy. I am from Bengaluru Karnataka and in South India because of the geographical location there is no much problem for the water here. In Bangalore, some of the places have been subjected to the water scarcity due to no pre-planned construction of the buildings and localities.But in my location there was no big problem for water. Our previous Karnataka government was also helping a lot for these problems. In fact the chamarajanagara district was a place of water shortage. People were provided with water supply only once in a week. But at present every alternative day people get water supply. A fact to be known for the politicians is the welfare of the people is more important than winning.

I have been to Jaisalmer and spent 2 nights in the middle of the Thar Desert and it was the most beautiful experience of my life ! I went in December though so the heat was kind of bearable.

Pls read this I just want to recommend a underrated hill station in Maharashtra which is Toranmal(In Satpura Ranges) in Nandurbar district.This district is also known as Adivasi District. It's the perfect season to visit there but it's upto you. Also river Tapi flows through this district.On the banks of Tapi Prakasha is situated also known as *Dakshin Kashi*. And there is also a interesting story about how this place got name Dakshin Kashi. Kartikeya temple which opens only once a year is also situated there.Many excavations were done there under the direction of B.K Thapar. I couldn't get much information about excavation but some contents which dated about 1700-1300 B.C were found.
