I refuse to hear government say its not our fault we just need more funding. Every time, we toss money at piss poor standards

So here’s a silly question. Knowing there was a possible threat on a roof why the heck didn’t they get Trump off the stage as soon as they learned a possible threat was on a roof? Instead they played pop a mole while Trump was a sitting duck.

No excuses. One man died, two were injured, and an attempt on a former president. How safe are we in our country? We can not protect a former president from a novice shooter. Our country is in real and serious trouble.

My comments will probably go unread. I see this video was posted eight days ago….. to all the veterans associated with field craft survival including Mike thank you for your service. There’s not a doubt that you have given above and beyond for your country as a patriot as a citizen I’m calling for you veterans to seek office representing our country as a nation, we are in serious trouble as a son of a veteran and a father of a veteran. I am disgusted by what is in Washington DC. Congress needs more veterans who love this country.

You gotta explain to me how they knew there was a dude on the roof and they don’t radio to ensure Trump is at least taken off until the figure out the threat. That’s an easy call. Delay the start, take a pause… makes no sense at all.

As a female American I agree 100% with your statements about political correctness negatively impacting hiring the best candidates for these jobs. The guys who looked up on the roof did not shoot Crooks. It was the snipers in the back of the other snipers on the red building. There is even talk the snipers were told to stand down until Crooks shot first. There were 4 snipers on the two read buildings…two on each. The closet sniper to Crooks did not shoot, it was the ones behind them as they had a view of Crooks.

The fact that there was absolutely no drone in the sky is absolutely ridiculous...

The reason the closest counter sniper team did not engage is due to the top of a tree in the line of sight hiding the shooter.The second team, which was stationed a longer distance away were at an angle that put the tree out of their line of sight.

Not securing a roof 120 yards away is far more than a security failure. They let him get to that spot AND get rounds off because they wanted to. I can’t really be convinced otherwise

I call BS on the local police being in charge of securing the building. I live about an hour from Butler and have been to the location. The Butler police only had 7 officers involved and were only assigned to traffic duties. Butler is a relatively small town that doesn't have the resources to run this type of security. This area was identified as a threat. This is on the SS, they were responsible for this area, the most obvious area for a sniper to set up being left unsecured. The director of SS has lied on camera about this specifically.

Please go search for & watch the audio analysis of the shooting that was presented on Benny Johnson's site. You will understand when you listen that there were 3 shooters .. Crooks, who fired 3 rounds, a 2nd shooter who fired 5 rounds, and the sniper who fired 1 round.

You know for a fact the bullet that killed Cory was fired from the rifle that the 20 year old had? The two other people shot were the bullets from the same gun?

The problem is with this current regime is no one is held accountable for their screwups

Good info. I considered being a sniper in the Corps, but I was only 18 and they told me they didn't want my death on their conscience. I resented it at the time, but I'm grateful now. My C.O. wanted me to be a squad leader in Nam, but I declined because the life expectancy of a Marine Squad Leader in Nam was less than a week!!

What you said at 25:18 was wrong. “He got off three rounds and the sniper team engaged him” Wha? Then how did Crooks get off the next 5 shots? If they engaged him..! Crooks never fired the first three shots. When Crooks fired his 5 shots, then the sniper team took him out. They only engaged Crooks once they saw him shoot. They never saw the shooter who fired the first three rounds.

SS director answered it for me. She said, that roof was not manned cause it was sloped and dangerous. That’s a lie, other sniper were on sloped roofs. It’s hard for me to think all levels made mistakes at the same time,without it being planned.

10 witnesses said there was someone on the water tower, they actually watched the guy stand up and go to the other side of the tower.

The fact that CNN and other networks decided to televise the event when they NEVER EVER televise any Trump event tells you everything you need to know .

I can understand being hesitant to fire, but he was seen with a range finder 26 minutes before. Why wasn’t the event postponed until they cleared it up and got rid of him?

A closely monitored drone would have been a game changer for SS. They knew of him for several minutes. The drone could have helped everyone know his coordinates.

Thanks for your take on this. A friend of mine attend a rally in Houston for President Trump. There were security snipers on every roof of every building in the area. There were also drones flying. There’s no reason that Pennsylvania shouldn’t have had that high of a Security as Houston did.

Dan Bongino is ex secret service. His observation is a little more critical. Doesn't make any excuses for anyone but gives an honest evaluation. His point is the shooter should have never been allowed to reach the roof. There is so many instances of police incompetence lately. The Mass police incompetence is unbelievable if anyone watched the Karen Read trial.

Acoustics analysis reveals the first 3 shots came from inside the 2nd floor open window. The next 5 shots came from the patsy assassin on the roof.

So many videos of people yelling out "man on roof with gun" waaayy before ANY shots were fired. Dont defend the security/cops call this what it is! It was a huge fail with some shady SHADY things going on!

We need to stop talking about lack of resources. The Secret Service budget was increased to $3 billion annually. Billion. That includes days when they don't show up for work. The day of the rally, for instance.

Wouldn't it make more sense to be patrolling the outside of the building for an outside event than being inside the building.

Ok this is what makes sense to me about the brass location and the sound of the shots fired, Crooks shot at trump first 3 shots then some one on the water tower took a shot at Crooks but missed then Crooks pivoted to his left to shoot at the shooter on the water tower accounting for the rapid 5 shots aimed at the water tower and the 5 brass casings on the other side of the roof.This also accounts for the two different sounds of the first 3 shots vs the different sound of the next five shots fired.

The dumbing down of law enforcement has been going on for years. I retired in 2020 after 33 years on the job. A couple years before my retirement I was in our training division at a large Sheriff's Office in Florida. They actually opened up SWAT tryouts to the recruits right after they completed their post academy training at the agency. I also saw them give a K-9 position to a female who couldn't pass the tryouts, over guys that were waiting and preparing for years for that position. And I also saw them promote a minority from patrol to captain solely because of the color of his skin, and without having to test for the position.

Why wasn't the water tower manned by Secret Service? It seems to be the highest vantage point.

So they had this kid tagged from the beginning cause he was at the main entrance with a laser range finder looking at the stage; I.e. performing recon on the counter sniper elements. Then he makes his way, loses his tail, and finds the almost perfect, insecure, elevated location to set up. This kid had no training, wasn’t a good shot according to school rifle team members, and recons this scene like a well trained operative and by a stroke of a hair fails his mission. I agree with every thing said in this video about the response and the failures. The question is how does a 20 year old with his daddies AR, who isn’t a hunter, isn’t a paintballer, has no formal training, and not the best shot according to first hand accounts able to recon, analyze, evade capture, and put rounds on target like none of those statements were true. Then he has little to no social media presence, no other motive yet known, and rudimentary explosive devices in both his vehicle and home. AND absolutely nobody around him had any clue about any of this…this isn’t the movies, but this screams operative to me.

This was a catastrophic failure by the Secret Service. Horrible. Perhaps your source believes it was due to budget cuts, etc...., however, this doesn't mean that there wasn't something else going on. We the public believed that the Secret Service had their act together. This is why no one ever attempts such a thing. This 20 year old somehow knew he could just walk past a crowd of people with a visible rifle into an area filled with law enforcement, climb up a roof, set up his gun, and take a shot without being stopped. How did he know that?

An eotech is a 1 moa dot. Much easier headshots than irons. My biggest concern ( and failure) is why the principal was allowed to remain on stage after a man with a rifle was reported on that roof, when obviously it wasn’t in the op plan. Things still seem screwy.

You're wrong dude, as a sniper in the secret services that roof specifically would be flagged ahead of time as a high threat location. All the snipers would have their eye on it as they scanned the whole area, NOT just the job of local law enforcement.

My problem is that the director of SS claims that there was no sniper on that roof because it was sloped and unsafe. The counter snipers in the video are on another sloped roof. All of the roofs are sloped. However, even still for both cs teams to be positioned that close together makes no tactical sense. They made the shot. Effective. But, for them to not scope him until he started shooting was ridiculous. I've been there n done it too. 1st cav desert storm and former law enforcement

Why in the hell is no one acknowledging the fact that there was clearly a 200ft water tower located within 100ft from the "assassin's" location? Why was there not a CAT located somewhere on that tower? The tower was much safer than the "slopped roof" that the SS director listed as the reason no counter sniper was 24:57 located there but instead local police snipers were inside the very bldg. that TMC took the shots on the roof from!??? Unbelievable!

Was the bystander that was shot and killed the first one shot? From the video I have seen I believe he was. With that being said the media has painted a picture of the victim being a hero by covering his family with his own body. In reality that could have never happened. There was no time to do that. All of the shots happened to quick and were done by the time most people dropped to the ground. That is my opinion. Would anyone like to elaborate their thoughts?

Apparently, the guy pointed a gun at a police officer before climbing the roof, and 2 minutes before the incident, people were pointing cameras at him on the roof and yelling out "he has a firearm", (can tell it was 2 minutes before hand based on Trumps speech in the background audio) also the sniper nest were looking directly at him meaning someone told them where he was. As much as a warzone is so much different than a non-warzone: the info they had was "guy with gun at said building"; they had multiple opportunities and more than enough time to get Trump off that podium and out of sight, but apparently, all that training, procedures, and protocols just went right out the window. How long does it take to say "potential threat, get cover for Trump"?

You didn't mention the ladder, clearly visible in the helicopter video, that the gunman used to get up onto the roof, and that the local cop used when he went to check on him. How could they have allowed someone to go up a ladder onto the roof? According to the head of the secret service, the building was being secured "from the inside". How does that make sense?

Its there bread and butter. They made a catastrophic series of errors which led to this event. The fact that the building the shooter was on was occupied by law enforcement makes this situation even worse.

obviously there was no protection to stop someone being able to setup and do what was done. A school kid could do better at seeing the dangers and assessing what should be done to secure that venue.
