Kampala is strangely much more lively (and safer) than where I currently live in the US. Ironically only after I left UG did I see the good. If only there were more jobs. About Kololo..it is because it is in an area where most embassies are so need to keep it well maintained. BTW the road you showed is not technically in Kololo but at the border between Kololo and Kitante (God, I miss my childhood place!) where the golf course is (could see this from school as a kid lol). Other top places: Najjera, Kira, Ntinda, Kisaasi (some parts), Kiwatule, Kyanja, Bukoto, basically anywhere North of Kololo. These would probably qualify as "suburbs". Your apartment is well priced..though maybe you could get it for like $500-$700. Man, this video has reminded me of the struggles I faced. I used to hawk stuff as a salesman all around Kampala. Never would have thought I'd ever make it where I have. Mira is also known as "Nkwacho". You did chew it quite like a pro lol (I have never tried it lol but your jaw actions were spot on)

Wow, this Video is one of my best ones, Thanks Willie for the content which is so informative, educative yet also entertaining. I appreciate all efforts you put in to make such a beautiful final peace for the world to enjoy. Uganda is no doubt a country everyone out there should come and try out, i agree there might be a lot out there in the media that depicts bad and weird stuff about Uganda but trust me, once you're on ground everything changes. Actually Uganda is one of those few African countries were almost everyone is free to do anything they want. Even a fool can survive here, that's what our President said. So all my brothers and sisters out there, give yourself a chance and visit the Pearl of Africa, I'm sure you wont regret anything but will instead urge others to come visit.

@@ethanrobertson3008 Thank you for your question, to be honest with you, i wont say we are the most perfect country, however over here we dont have people killing each other like in the US. Here every one tries there level best to live on there best behavior avoiding issues that could bring up misunderstandings, fights and maybe killing each other. Just imagine Uganda has over 56 Tribes, and these tribes have a lot of differences right from the kind of staple food they eat, there cultural norms and beliefs, political affiliations, religious affiliations, languages spoken and even the way of life. BUT all these strive hard to live in happiness, peace and harmony with each other on a daily and even work together and you'll be surprised each from a different tribe is happy and glad to live with the other. That's how beautiful Uganda is, i hope i did answer your question. Thanks

@gambaemma2895
@gambaemma2895 4 ай бұрын
@@ethanrobertson3008 Well, from a personal basis, Yes i have thought about it or even tried to imagine how life would be. Probably Uganda would be much better than it is now, no tribal differences, no feeling like the other tribe is treated better than the other and probably people would be coming more closer and together for a common coz the tribal thing kind of in away sets boundaries between people. It is a hard fact that people may not want to agree with but it does.

Uganda is on my list to relocate,But I am in love with Rwanda, but Rwanda has something that terrifies me! and that are volcanoes! And they are surrounded, not by 1! but 8 volcanoes! and it doesn't matter if a few of them are inactive! Nothing will convince me to live in a country that's surrounded by 8 volcanoes! with volcanoes, you never know when those bitches decide to wake up! going by the videos I have seen of Uganda, the country is starting to appeal to me, especially in its possibility of farming. I am following several Uganda farm KZfaqrs and their videos are very inspiring! question,can you make a video regarding farm land for sale in Uganda?

Ha ha, Kampala rent prices are the same as first world northern Britain! How did they become so expensive! I thought Uganda was a cheap country!!!!
@WillieFungo
@WillieFungo 4 ай бұрын
Yes, it is unfortunately like this all over Africa. The only thing that is cheap is human labor. But if you want to live a similar quality of life as you would expect in a developed country, expect to pay a similar price. This is because most of low levels of industrialization, which causes most high value goods to be imported and bad urban planning/zoning, which jacks up the price of land.
@Kiriza22
@Kiriza22 Ай бұрын
Am a Ugandan too, but someone some where is a big time dreamer. The problem is that expats are ready to pay that money, so the prices remain high. But then tourism suffers. It’s all unfair prices, but all people should just use the cheaper alternatives and fail the exploiters.

I was surprised by the accomodation costs being so high and the standard rather low..in Cambodia the roads are better and the facilities nicer, and I get a big nice villa in western standard modern construction, with swimming pool, for 600..300 no pool, or a very nice high end apartment...also dont see any people with light coloured skin, so I would be afraid of discrimination if I went there. Is discrimination against white people a thing? I have travelled to many countries but never in Africa. I would like to experience it.
@WillieFungo
@WillieFungo 3 ай бұрын
You can search a video called "what Ugandans think about white people" which is on my channel. Accommodation costs in this part of Africa are easily 2x or even 3x higher than South East Asia for the same level of quality. This is because of a low level of industrialization.

You're wrong! You can't generalize based on one experience in one country. Exclusive neighborhoods don't look run down all across Africa. I'm from Nigeria and I'm shocked that the images you're showing is an exclusive neighborhoods in a country somewhere in the world. You can't pay me enough to live in a neighborhood looking like this in the name of exclusivity. So please get your facts straight. I suggest you pick Nigeria for example, and Google exclusive neighborhoods of Nigeria to confirm your mistake. Thanks😮

@@WillieFungo You must not have been to the exclusive neighborhoods of Nigeria. Did you go to places like Ikoyi, Victoria Island and the Federal Capital Territory? Trust me, you don't know Nigeria more than Nigerians. I'll suggest you Google the above listed cities and stop misleading the world. What you're doing is usually typical of western media and not someone like yourself. The fact that you visited some sharm neighborhoods, like some of those in America, doesn't necessarily mean that those are the exclusive neighborhoods of Nigeria
@WillieFungo
@WillieFungo 4 ай бұрын
@@XY-rh3if 2 years ago, I did a KZfaq series on Abuja, which included top neighborhoods like Maitama, Asokoro, etc. While the houses are huge and nice, the public infrastructure and finish of the areas never matches the price tag of the land, especially in the commercial parts of the neighborhood (Maitama for example).The reason why these areas look fine to you is because of lack of exposure to how things are done elsewhere in the world. One of the few African countries that break this trend in Kigali Rwanda, where even middle class neighborhoods have a good level of polish.

😂 😂How about 3 decades in the western world, including your country where I stayed for 25 years until I got fed up with the racially motivated official murder of Black People by primarily White Police Officers. Infact, I left shortly after the racially motivated official murder of George Floyd by a White Police Officer. Does the above sounds like enough exposure to you? You're contradicting your statement. The description you gave about the exclusive neighborhoods of Africa doesn't rhyme with the same Abuja you claim to have visited. I've been traveling before you discovered that all the propaganda that the US government and its puppet mainstream media have been feeding Americans about Africa is mostly propaganda

Besides, this guy wasn’t taken to other places on the other side of town like Kyanja, Bukoto, Ntinda, Kiwatule, Kiira, Najeera or even Naalya. The biased guide took him to ‘his’ favorite places. Go back to Kampala and collect enough information about the entire city and post a unanimous perspective to how Ugandans live, personal opinions might be mistaken for prejudice…

@@AanuOlobo I don't agree. Muyonyo, Muyenga, Bugolobi and Kololo are considered rich neighborhoods near the city center. And they have the corresponding property prices. I explained why I personally prefer downtown and Kabalagala because the property values are lower and business opportunities are greater. Yes, the title is not 100% accurate.
