We have been through so many different math curriculum options over the years. I have been looking for a homeschool math curriculum that included short lessons, hands on activities, an easy parent guide, and a physical workbook for my kids to work in for years. I had only found curriculum that included a few of these requirements...until I found Apologia math curriculum, Exploring Creation with Mathematics. It fits all of my "must haves" list and I'm so excited to finally have a math that I love using! After searching far and wide, I think I'm pretty confident that this is my favorite homeschool math curriculum I've ever seen. I cannot wait to dig in and get even more use out of it! This is so helpful! I am trying to decide between apologia math and master books. Have your kids ever used master books for math and if so how would you say they compare to apologia? Thanks🙂

We like Apologia math WAY better. There's so much more to it.

Thanks for the video! Did you ever try Math U See? If so, what draws you to Apologia in comparison to MUS?

We did try it years ago and didn't last long using it. We prefer more of a spiral approach.

Any updates since you have been using this for a while? Approximately how long does it take to do a 3rd grade math lesson?

I still don't have any kiddos in the right grades to use it to its fullest (next year, finally!!!) We used it strictly supplemental for a handful of lessons. So, unfortunately I'm not sure how long a full lesson would take yet, sorry!

Like I said in the video, we haven't been able to use it to it's full capacity because they don't have the levels we need for my older kids, so we just used level 3 to supplement. I fully plan to use level 1 once my daughter hits first grade next year!

Hi there. I am just wondering why you switched from Saxon to Apologia? I am using Apologia however I don't see a lot of review of subjects that have been covered before. We have used Level 1 and 2 so far. I have level 3 sitting and ready to go.

Time. Saxon took so much time to do and that just wasn't doable in our homeschool any more with so many children! Apologia's lessons are shorter and, I feel, much more appropriate for elementary age kids.

@@RabbitTrailsHomeschool that's what I figured. What are you using for your older children? I have a 12-year-old who is very good at math but he has reached the point where I don't want to teach him anymore because I don't want to mess him up for college lol. I have Saxon 7/6 with the teacher DVD but I'm not sure if I want to put him in it to make him hate math. He didn't like teaching textbooks at all.

I have not found a math I love for older kids. They're using Teaching Textbooks. Their choice, not mine! Lol We're supplementing with CTCMath.

We've had fun adding things here and there! Like I said in the video, though, none of my kids are the ages of the curriculum that's currently released, so I won't get to use it to it's full capacity for a couple years yet. I'm (im)patiently waiting because it's still the best math Ive ever laid my eyes on!

Thank you for this video. Are you familiar with singapore math? I'm looking for something that uses a little more of the conceptual math/mental math approach that isn't TOTALLY over my head like singapore is!

@@kchapyful yes and no. It has great hands-on activities like Saxon, but I don't find it nearly as time intensive.

Thank you for making this video! ❤ Truly curious how it compares to MwC! We’ve used their level K this year. Ordered it and excited to try out level one. 😄 Just realized what I wrote above made it sound like I ordered MwC level 1😜 However after watching your video I researched apologia math and I definitely think my daughter will like it more than MwC. I’m excited to try it out! 😊 So thanks for making this video!

Thanks for showing so many pages! I was already leaning toward using this with my youngest; I liked what I saw in their samples, but now that I've seen everything you showed I think I'm sold! I'm curious, what, if anything, do you plan on using for kindergarten before this? Thanks!

I'm so sorry I missed that part of your first comment! I talked with the author and she doesn't plan on releasing kindergarten until she's done with the rest of the elementary grades, so we plan on using Math With Confidence for kindergarten.
