I just tried this on for the first time. Comfort, pockets, gore tex materials...thus is the greatest outer shell jacket I've ever owned. Wow I am a HUGE FAN NOW OF RAB. Quality and durability to keep you warm, dry, with full flexibility and breathability with pit zips. LOVE THIS JACKET!!!

Excellent presentation. I use a Latox Alpine Jacket with Event fabric. It's the best shell jacket I have used or come across. Your Latox GTX review enhances significantly what Rab marketing does. Well done.

Latok jacket Event was already one of the best climbing jacket, its the jacket with the biggest storage thanks to the 4 pocket, the 2 infrot are huge! and very usefull. Now it seems that in the new one they improved zip closing under the chin and the hood system is even more compact. the price is quite expenseve compare the old one (due gtx). right now still one of the best..

We don't stock the orange anymore I'm afraid. It's either red or blue! I can find out if we're getting any XXL's of those colours if you'd like. Harry

Hey guys. Hope you’re all safe and well. Just a quick follow up query. Is the face fabric/laminate of the 20/21 Latok GTX jacket the same as the 19/20 version? I only wondered, as i tried on the Red colour in the current version in the shop, and it felt a tad lighter or thinner in places and less stiff/more pliable than the 19/20 Deep Ink Latok GTX jacket i have? Thanks for the kind words! Nope, the latest version uses two weights of Gore-Tex Pro (most breathable and most rugged), plus has a recycled face fabric. The denier of the face fabric is exactly the same, though, so it should feel very similar. Harry

Are the RAB Latok, Arc’teryx alpha ar, Arc’teryx beta sv or the mountain equipment lhotse all in the same ball park for quality ??

You would have to try very hard to pick them apart on quality; the largest difference is fit. I fit Arc'teryx really well in a medium but tend to get stuck between sizes with Rab's hardshells. I'd try a few on if possible. Kind regards, Harry.

Why did Rab stop using e vent I was wearing my latok e vent one up the artgarden Forest the other day and it was chucking it down totally dry not even a little bit of moisture build-up.

Primarily due to Gore constantly developing new fabrics, membranes and technologies for various different uses, allowing Rab to improve not just the Latok, but some of their other products too. In this particular jacket it makes sense to use Gore-Tex Pro over eVent due to the increased breathability as well. Kind regards, Harry.

Will it do for desert winter weather?

Unfortunately we're not too familiar with desert winters over here in the UK, but having done a little research it seems like the Latok would be overkill. It's primarily designed for alpine climbing and winter mountaineering, so for a largely flat environment you'd be better off with something which is more walking/trekking focused such as Rab's Kangri. What are the differences between this jacket and the Muztag? Thanks

Latok uses a 70D fabric throughout whereas the Muztag uses 30D/40D fabrics. Latok also features Gore-Tex Pro 'Most Rugged' across the shoulders and hood for additional durability. Basically, it's a tougher jacket. Harry

would you recommend me based on my measurements? height 178, weight 84, chest 101, waist 100, seat 96. I would use it as you are doing with light shells for skiing and trekking in the mountains all year round. i live in the mountains. A thousand thanks

How big is Paul. I want to purchase this jacket but wasn't sure on large or extra large . I'm 6,0ft and around 13 stone.
