Chandra Mohan Jain, the eldest of eleven children of a cloth merchant, was one of India's most original, and yet simultaneously controversial spiritual minds of the past century. A critic of Mahatma Gandhi as well as socialism, Rajneeth, or Osho as he was widely known, preached the need for simultaneous consideration of internal and external riches, claimed sexual liberation was paramount to mindfulness and created several expansive luxury communes to broaden and develop the study of such ideas.
The guru didn't, however, stop there- his attempts to spread the cult into American society drew heavy criticism after senior officials within the movement attempted mass Salmanella poisoning with the hope of influencing elections. Such incidents haven't stopped the crowds from coming though- the movement has gained popularity even since his death in 1990.
In this short documentary, we take a tour of Osho's place of rest and commune and talk to just some of the disciples form around the world who have found faith in the guru's teachings.

I listen OShO too much and really love to listen his speech. He is the best orator and most well read man on this planet. The way he develops his speech and the sequence in such a convincing way I have never come across anyone so far till date even worth comparing with Osho. He teaches religiousness and not religion. He says people not to trust him and follow him blindly but he only triggers our thought process so that we start thinking rationally. I love Osho.

I spent the summer of 1981 in Pune, India, in this ashram. What attracted me most were the people who came to seek whatever truth they hoped to find, or to find a path towards understanding themselves and the world. Whether right or wrong, on-target or misguided, being around people on their quest was exhilarating. The dancing, the meditation, the wondrous vegetarian food, the intensity of tropical sun and showers along with the occasional wild parrots swooping in upon us. I eventually chose not to take the mala, for personal reasons I won't share here, but all in all, the experience was mind-opening. One does not need to agree with the methods or the messenger in order to be on their own quest. And yes, if you took the Mala and became a Sanyassin, you were permitted "behind the big gate" to have those wild sex orgies...of which I never did, nor desired.

30 years ago, i have past a few years almost every day in Germany in this community, making the meditations, for example teh dynamic meditation every morning before work and the Kundalini in the evening, doing some "therapy groups", having sometimes couple relationships with Sannyassins (who has made classes in Poona and had then a sanscrit name), ate in their restaurant, gone every week in a sannyassin disco-night, i had even an Sannyas-Therapist for a time... Well ... what i loved the most was, there was allways some people there to eat with, to dance with etc. You felt never really alone, but i must say, you felt sometimes alone because, beside of the couple relationships, i have never found real friendships. it was all really superficial, because everybody was concentrate on himself. Il loved the meditations, because they were exhausting like sport and calming like zen meditation. Il liked the vegetarian food and the disco-nights, because people would go there, like they were, nothing chic with clothes or make-up, or arrogant or with special dance techniques etc. BUT what it didn't understand at all, that were the photographs of Osho in every room. I felt, like i didn't like this guy, or at least i tgnored him, because i didn't know him personnaly as person. AND the sentence in every conversation "Osho said that ...." as when the people couldn't think om their own ! Unbelievable. (And for me very sad and ennoying) AND what i aboslutely couldn't take at all (the reason why i never gone in the white robe meditation ... )and was for me IMPOSSIBLE, that was to meditate, or to dance in front of, not an empty chair, but an empty pair of flip-flops of Osho. I respected the community in general, but i had to talk about and to lought about this point with external friends sometimes... For me it was so weird, every time i couldn't believe, what i saw, and i couldn't do that with the others, i felt very bad, between the need to lough and to go away, or to feel bad because of the feeling, everybody was mad. I mean, in didn't know Osho personally, i knew just a few speaches of him, and so done almost all the others too... how could i do that, how could i admire him and shout out his name ? And the flip-flops !!!! O my God, no. I wouldn't danse aront the glasses of jean Paul srtre and close my eyes and shout out "Jean Paul sarte, jean Paul Sartre" every night """ =D Infortunatly i couldn't, becuase otherwise i liked the idea of the white robe. (I think, in my city it eas every sunday, a little bit like in the church) So i made a lot of the actions there and liked the meditations, but the person of Osho has never been very sympathic to me, i didn't like him much, and i never gone to poona to know him personally. So i done all those things for myself, and done it like whe he didn't exist (because thinking of him didn't make myself fel well.) I didn't know now that the movement continued after his death ( since the center in my city closed) , and i didn't know either, they mad a modern meditation ressort in the former poona center.

They don't allow Indians inside Osho ashram to understand these things, coz neither do we have dollars nor white skin but we do have brains to understand what's going on. For all you followers of Rajneesh/'Bhagwan' (which literally means god in hindi) you were just scammed by one of the many conn artists of India, they still exist and are most often punished for creating a cult and fooling people (eg. baba ram raheem, ambe ma, asaram bappu n many such people). Rajneesh and Sheela just took this game outside of India and made a fortune for themselves. They've done nothing but given people who are looking for connections (or sex to be precise), so that they can heal their emotional traumas, a platform to meet like minded people. It is more or less a realistic version of an adult dating website, where people meet in reality instead of a virtual computer and Rajneesh and Sheela were geniuses of that time to get this business started!! They've earned their fortune.

Osho Song: You called yourself the ocean - Perhaps awed by it's vastness Its depth and its mystery - Like no one has ever been A wave of that ocean - Wiped my footprints on the sand And showed me a new path - That no one has ever taken No direction, no destination, just a sudden splash of water on my cold feet You said love is but a flower - That blossoms in the morning And withers in the evening - But its fragrance will remain You said life is the miracle - And there's nothing more divine And heaven is just a promise - The Maker has failed to keep Seek within and travel without the baggage that is forced on your shoulders You dared to choose the wilderness - To build your Kingdom of contradiction To be crowned in controversy - In the land of milk and honey All the words you have spoken - May vanish into thin air Like that rainbow in the sky - As colorful as your life Never born, never died. My late husband left £10k to a Christian church in his will. He was attending Sunday services for the last 10 years of his life without a fail, where he would also make small donations. No one ever asked him why he did it, no one was surprised. Why would people be surprised that some of us prefer to meditate in Osho's centres instead of praying in churches? And why on earths a meditation should be free of charge but a prayer shouldn't? Just do it at home if you think it's not worth paying. Vatican has its own city no one is allowed to enter in, probably because they are afraid of showing their wealth to the world. Is the world concerned about their spirituality?

Just a sudden splash of lightning against the night Just listen: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iJmldtKSxp-mYIE.html

Osho was a great Mystic, Master and a Living Buddha. Those who met him were fortunate and blessed. I met him in 1978 while studying at FTII in Pune. He was a great fountain of divine energy and only those who were ripe and ready for the next stage of transformation in their lives could establish a personal rapport with him. Though he left his body in 1990, he is still in touch with me and still guides me. I share this only because of the few negative & indifferent comments observed below. Those who know, simply know... Let's not be quick to judge anyone. Let these words of mine be a humble invitation to those who would dare and read his books to know him, and more importantly, to know one's own self...Love !

If you imagine god, you imagine him as the most powerful being, the sovereign lord of the universe, he can take all forms he wants. This outer form only confuses the mind, but the reality, the core of existence is never touched. Before you have not found the inside, the core, everything will be somehow confusing. The mind can never grasp the reality as such, it is too big, too vast, it is beyond any imagination. There meditation starts. Until you have not practiced meditation yourself, all will be a theory for you.

She compiled book Rajneeshism from the talks of Osho from here and there ,when Osho was in silence for 3 n half year. When Osho came to know he made huge bonafire of those books n asked his people to burn those copies of books, all over world. and lovers too bonafire .Osho claimed all religions are responsible for bloodshed n millions of wars for thousands of years n one more religion will add to another war. Hence he created movement of meditators. He did not believe in conversion too which basically does not change people within. People can be part of their original religion ,the country yet they can meditate Real thing is that Osho wanted peoplevto be happy, creative n shud be rich jnwardky n outworldly

We created a religion, we even dared to say things like “he was crucified, like Jesus”. We wanted actually another Jesus Christ, because we never stopped for a moment being christians, even when we were playing the rebels and hanging out in Oregon, in Poona and in all the communes....we never tasted any freedom. Once we have known the parish we will easily end up into another parish as parishioners, even in India. This all doesn’t upset me anymore, I can stand my ground today, knowing that there are no spiritual authorities out there, no money to spend, no dreams like enlightment, no salvation. No bullshit anymore.

Does this mean you now believe in materialism and endless sleep when you die?
@vincentmelis
@vincentmelis 3 жыл бұрын
@@ColtraneTaylor materialism has always been there, I’wanted happiness, bliss, enlightenment, spiritual wisdom, not much different from wanting money, cars and holidays... the same anxiety. Nothing wrong actually but some illusions less, feeling lighter and less gullible. When I die can I beleive in something? And, can I now, believe in something like endless sleep after death? I don’t even know what we are talking about!😂

Religiousness is a quality within each one of us, very personal, our very nature incsiderate of the outside. You cannot judge someone else way of life if doesn't match yours. Everyone has free will and yet the world somehow runs as a unity. Thank you Osho
