Hi Essie! Yes, engraving inside of a ring with a mounted stone is possible. Best Built laser engravers come with a rotary ring attachment which will allow the user to mechanically control where the engraving will go, with a laser preview contour. This laser preview makes it easy to visualize where the design should be engraved on the inside of the ring.

Hi! Laser engravers remove material by etching (burning) the metal with a hyper-focused light source. For this reason, engravings will typically come out black or charred. The Best Built laser engraver software has the option of generating a 'cleaner' pass, which will trace over the engraved area with a low-energy laser pass to remove or 'clean' the charred part from the engraving, leaving the engraved area clean and clear of debris. Further polishing will still be required for a mirror finish. Hope this helps!
