I love how diverse your music documentaries are starting out to be. After the desert rock one this seems perfect. Different in the style of music, yet same in its originality and immense artistic value. But the one in the desert also had different sides to it attached to the landscape, its history and social aspect of how a movement was born. This is more person-specific and I am intrigued to see how it can be equally interesting, since I can't see how it can have those sides to it. Weirdly enough I am a massive fan of both the desert scene (starting with the time I was listening to Kyuss around '92) and of Scofield as well. Seen quite a few desert/stoner bands live and Sco too. He is a master player and seeing him play is always very enjoyable. Thankfully he's touring a lot and coming to Europe quite often. And it's a pity to see other great guitar players like Eric Johnson weirdly touring exclusively in the US.

I'm guessing touring is exhausting, but that is his bread and butter and the way he can support his family. However, I don't doubt that he loves the actual experience of performing - I hope so! I remember Micheal Brecker talking about this late in his life - how difficult traveling was, but how much energy he got when he was actually in performance.

@@idnemgk possibly your right, must be something in the background. Saw John in Holland, Rotterdam (travelled from UK specifically for it! Ferry, train etc) a couple of years back now. Was a fantastic concert. Was going to hang around and try to ask him to sign my as200 (like a complete geek haha). Decided against as I didn't want to bother/pester him. What a musician, unbelievable. Larry Goldings was a revelation too - he played the encore solo. Been a massive fan ever since, more so than I already was.
