Can't wait to come back to Changi - my favourite airport . Will be there in October 2022 for the 9th time if not counting my first landing by sea during its construction in April 1979 as a Vietnamese boat person

At least I can see the foreign countries from the airport! Thanks, so mucho! LOL. I used to work at FedEx and traveled a bit on discount. I miss that. My nephew is a Federal Gov employee, but he is a supervisor out at the FedEx hub in Memphis, TN. You wouldn't believe what they confiscate on pkgs coming in and going out. Some people are so stupid and try anything to get away with. Even undercover stings are done on the receiving end to catch the criminals. Crime is a never-ending job for law enforcement.

Miss Nina Amalina, with the beautiful purple eye shadow, was an absolute gem. Calm without mothering, efficient but reassuring, pleasant but earnest, exceedingly polite without being distant or officious, and above all: empathising of the passenger in distress. Having travelled most of my life as a diplomat's child, I have seen most every culture, and Ms. Amalina is honestly a wonderful exception to the state of virtually all airport customer support staff worldwide, which is de fakto burned out. The absurd level of stress airports impose on travellers and staff alike -- even those not on the autism spectrum like myself -- makes even slight problems, seem like the end of the world. This woman should be commended.

@@mariawerner8447 I didn't get to make the choices to be able to do that. You and I actually have the same surname as well as the guy in my state that did a really bad thing to a little girl and did 10 years for it. He has the exact same name as me (even the middle name) as well as a father with the same name as mine. I couldn't get a decent job in the field I went to school for while this guy was in prison because every background check brought him up. After decades of dealing with the fallout from this other guy's "life choices". I don't have a lot of high maintenance toys and a really small house (some pool houses are larger than my home), the car I have is 20 years old, and a job that pays pretty well now, but the life choices of other people (in Madison and Washington) have reduced my "wealth" to where I only get to watch tv shows of people going on holiday as opposed to getting to have one myself.

Back in 1999 I had to send a box back by ship from Japan containing dirty clothes, gifts from the teachers and students, etc. It took a month. My brother was angry when they pulled me and my students from our earlier JAL flight and bumped us up to business class because one of my students had a replica katana in her luggage. Gotta say, business class on JAL was fantastic! However it made us over fours late because we sat on the tarmac at JFK in our puddle jumper on route to Philly.

We need to take a good hard long look at all the service agents down to the tarmac workers and recognize and take hard notice that none of them are miserable, they all always have a smile on their faces, none of them are in poor health like high blood pressure at a young age, none of them are obese and they clearly all exercise before they start working in the mornings, therefore none of them appear to be in poor physical health, and as we all know typically they live well into their 80’s to 90’s and can get around and have a sharper mind then half the Americans in their 50’s. Maybe we need to find out their secret because I have been to at least 15 different airports in the states and the customer service people quite literally will refuse to help you until you get so frustrated with the stupid computer kiosk you want to put your fist through the screen, and even then it’s like pulling teeth from a llama before they will help you. Instead of super cool amusement things to look at or interact with our airports have rip off gift shops, rip off fast food places, and rip off bars. Sad but true. Maybe if we served healthy hot meals like they do we wouldn’t need so many fast foods in the airports. It has always fascinated me that they make just about everything they cook from scratch, they do it so quickly, and keep their kitchen immaculate while doing it, and you can clearly see how every family cooks and loves with their entire being no matter what and a lot of Americans love and cook with conditions and a do as I say not as I do attitude.
