This is one of the coolest restaurants that I've ever been to and they're doing some absolutely incredible stuff. This is Kvitnes Gård and they're really embracing being in the Arctic by only using Arctic ingredients in their cooking. It's a harsh environment, but one that produces some of the most interesting flavors I've ever had in my life. Add to that that it's near the gorgeous Lofoten Islands and the dramatic landscapes in Northern Norway overall and you get one of the most memorable experiences that you'll ever have.

The fact that they didn't go bankrupt, being this remote and this crazy expensive, it's mind-blowing. People really like to be robbed.

I don't think people like to be robbed, you are paying for the experience. I usually think that ignorant people has a tendency of complain and talk about things that they don't know, usually they don't have any ideia about how hard is to do certain things like open and administrate a restaurant, and one with a very different concept. So in the small boundaries that this kind of people live, they imagine that they are some kind of hero, saving people from the bad guys that have a "very easy job" administrating an restaurant on the middle fucking nowhere.Thank you, now I know that is better stay home and eat a hungry man tv dinner, because its cheap. You know what, I think that humanity doesn't need anything artistic, different or exotic, because that is being robbed, we just need to eat a brown bloob that america sells to us on a macdonalds, we are very smart!

Theme parks are stupid and you could get all the hot dogs and burgers and cotton candy that you would want from the store at home, and order the souvenirs for cheap from Amazon. Going on a road trip is stupid when you can just search up recipes and imitate the traditional dishes of various states and countries at home. Going on a flight is stupid because you can just sit at home on a chair and stare out the window. I am a man of culture, and so I avoid all these unnecessary expenses spent on something that won’t last, and instead sit in my goon cave all day, accumulating non perishables and sleeping on a bed of grass because a bed is a unnecessary expenditure. I am a man of culture.

@@GL-to8le the feeling of being robbed comes down to putting more value in the money you spent over the experience you had and that will remain true regardless off understanding the business aspect behind the establishment you visited or not. Peoples values are not all set in stone as are their personal tastes or preferences.

Michelin Star restaurants be like: This is a dried jellyfish in disguise as a potato. And this is fried leather in disguise of a steak. This salad is made out of mold, artichoke hearts, and canned pea soup. For dessert we have chocolate brownies made out of horse hairs:

Interesting concept, innovative, probably very eco friendly way to produce food, being all local and the atmosphere seem nice. Seem kind of risky with whether one would actually like the food or not and probably not for most people. Fermented fish is just gross, wouldnt eat that. But some other things could be tasty. Some its hard to tell

If you’re going to say “one of the must unique,” then it’s obvious that you think that “unique” means exactly the same thing as “unusual.” Why not say “unusual”? Yes, I know that almost everyone on KZfaq says “most unique.” Because it sounds SO COOL. That’s all that matters. The word “unique” is now useless except as a synonym for “unusual.” You helped kill it. Be proud! It’s not everyone who gets to help destroy something useful.

Yeah I agree most unique is a bit redundant and overused on the internet, but "unusual" has these slight negative connotations that wouldn't fly. It's not as bad as "abnormal" but it's a not seen as universally positive a descriptor as "unique". Give the guy a break, he's not making the most egregious content.

7:00 that white dish has a bunch of scuffs from other dishes sitting on it, or it's just old and worn out.. takes away from the dish imo .. otherwise everything looked like a world class experience
