Who knows how many empty malls there are in the USA. Several bloggers cover them from coast to coast. Many probably will see the wreaking ball. One near the condo in Seminole, FL is totally gone. I remember driving by and the only light on in the big parking lot was the Radio Shack sign, as they had a street entrance. K Mart, Public and other stores were all gone. In the afternoon nearby retirees would gather in what was left of the food court and have some old time dance parties.

This makes me very sad because I spent a lot of time in the Fashion Square mall around 1994-1998 when my husband and I took our son to Civil Air Patrol (CAP) meetings at the Orlando Executive Airport. We lived in Apopka so we would bring him to the meetings and have a date night at the mall until we picked him back up. It was a vibrant mall then, but so was the NTC base. We had several Civil Air Patrol banquets out there at NTC and also were able to shop at the store for uniform supplies for CAP. Please don't tell me that the Altamonte Mall is closed up in the same manner. For 12 years we shopped there for school clothes, had date nights, etc. I know that the main stores I shopped at are gone such as Sears, probably Penney's, the music store, Wicks & Sticks, Suncoast Movies, Electronics Boutique and Barney's Coffee.
