Lucky Hank, starring Bob Odenkirk, premieres March 19 on AMC.
Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.

That’s a complaint I’ve had that I’m glad someone else could put into words. Like, Call of Duty killed off more than enough of their protagonists with seamless ease in the original MW Trilogy whereas the reboot, even if it’s understandably popular, just can’t bring itself to kill anyone. They blew a guy up just to say he came back with a peg leg! Gotta say now since MWIII: I still stand by this even if Soap [Spoiler courtesy expired] died just like that.

My dad is a cop, and he told us for years things he witnessed with adrenaline after fatal crushes or accidents. When people get up and start walking even with their both legs broken, thinking it’s nothing for a few seconds. Or similar things where people get up like they are perfectly fine, and later dying from injuries. Human body and brain is so fascinating.

I experienced that a bit. I got caught up in a current on the end of a jetty while boogie boarding. After several minutes of trying to get out of it I gave up and went to the side and eventually climbed up on the side of it. I got up and walked down it and back to the beach and a friend of mine asked me if I was alright. I said "Yeah" he then pointed down to my legs. Turns out I was bleeding all over from my lower legs and bottoms of my feet. The rocks were covered in barnacles. I did not feel a thing until it was pointed out to me then... man walking was excruciating.

My dad knew a cop with a story like this. Officer pulls up to a car accident; vehicle collided into a tree at high speed. Driver is outside of the car, walking around, surveying the damage. She obviously has a broken nose but seems fine otherwise. This was before airbags were standard; her face hit the steering wheel on impact. Officer tries talking with the driver. She’s coherent, but mostly unable to speak due to her injury. She does the best she can. During the short exchange, the driver stops to sneeze. Definitely uncomfortable, considering the broken nose. Her expression quickly goes from pained to completely blank, as she collapses to the ground. Dead instantly, blood pouring from her nose and mouth like a faucet. The driver had broken much more than her nose. The pressure from the sneeze ruptured the fragile network of soft tissue holding her shattered skull together. She had also broken several ribs and one of her arms. Further investigation revealed that the driver was on so much cocaine at the time, it was possible that she was unaware of her pain. Never felt a thing.

It’s likely a heavy dose of shellshock, so his mind is just going through muscle memory. Business is done, get up and leave. Interestingly enough, while definitely life threatening, this injury doesn’t appear immediately fatal (unless there’s fragmentation we can’t see.) It’s probably the concussive force put out by that massive explosion that killed him, which explains why he’s able to move still.

The best part of this scene for me is the fact that the explosion was powerful enough to blow a door off it's hinges and send it flying across the hallway, but the wheelchair didn't budge aside from some split fabric and bent framing. The cartel really do take care of their elderly.

Well the way an explosion works is an extremely rapid expansion of gas especially since it was a pipe bomb Walt made so the aerodynamics of the chair allows the gas to pass right around. The door has such a large surface area as well as being the only escape route for gas not to also mention that two tiny hinges are much weaker than the metal tubes due to shape. A wheelchair is meant to bend in multiple directions in case of an accident. Most common doors are just meant to open and close with the hinges mostly withstanding a vertical force. Also notice the fabric has giant holes in the middle and not the outside. This is because the gas expanding which pushes on the fabric like some sort of banner. The gas escapes in the path of least resistance which is the dead center as the fabric is attached to the tubes. Might've got carried away but I just love this scene and the entire setup. Even if tio got absolutely obliterated but Gus only had a major case of fourth degree burn. Not realistic but perfect either way.

But also, the shockwave could go around the wheelchair frame, but couldn't go around the door. A big flat thing is like the ideal projectile from an explosion. But once the seat cushions are blown off, the wheelchair frame is so thin for its strength, it might be the ideal shape to survive the explosion.

This is the moment that sent chills down my spine, and is the moment I think of when Gus Fring comes to mind. He played that role perfectly. The writing and improv was perfect. The makeup was perfect. The timing was perfect. This was literally the perfect death scene and episode. The fact that he did not win an Emmy for this role is a complete shame and is why I give no credit to the Emmy's much like the Oscar's not giving Leo an award until lately when he's deserved at LEAST 3.

@@bendynamic2150 Think less of the Oscars as a competition or sporting event, where the judges are truly trying to find the best entrant, and more as an awards show for other professionals, like the Professional Engineer of the year or Teacher of the year. Professional awards are given to people who have had good careers and than one year someone nominates them for the award for something they did and the judges pick them. Its not exactly the same, because judging movies is less nebulous than judging who the best teacher is, but its not that different either.

I agree there's nothing I've seen before or after that even comes close. I don't recall a series ever having as many perfect episodes as I recalled this one having. This sets the bar. There's also no story arc that even comes close to this one.
