Hooptown USA - also known as Spokane, Washington - has become a basketball mecca in the Pacific Northwest. And this can be attributed to two things - the nation's largest 3-on-3 hoop tournament and the success of Gonzaga University’s basketball program. On this episode of "Royal Key," we take you on a tour of the latter to see their newly-updated facilities and discuss the continued success of the program.

@@younggoose7315 Rui Hachimura did the work of learning English after growing up with Japanese. I tried to cross that language barrier but noped out back to Spanish during drop-add week my freshman year 😆 He did have a tutor. She could not have done the work for him if she had wanted to do so because Rui really wanted to learn.

As a GU alum his answer for top 5 guys IN THE LEAGUE was awful, and I assume he misunderstood the question. Burgess is still considered a GOAT for the GU program but didn't have an NBA career. Saying Brandon Clarke before Sabonis!!!, or even Olynyk at this point? Ammo's NBA career was a bust, but he at least got 2 rings on the Laker bench. A realistic top 5 NBA Zags of All time is 1) Stockton 2) Sabonis 3) Kelly Olynyk 4) Ronny Turiaf 5) Rui Hachimura. Clarke is probably 6 with room to pass Turiaf.

Not an alumnus, but I started being a huge fan halfway through the 98-99 season. I got to see a few games in the old kennel and then our fam got season tickets to the MAC. I had the same 5 as you with Clarke as a 6th. Probably going to be a whole different answer a year from now!

Gonzaga has about 7500 students compared to about 15000 for Duke. Gonzaga's endowment is about 3.6% the size of Duke's, though. Gonzaga's home court was designed to be a modern version, more open version of Cameron Indoor but seating about 6000 instead of 9000. UK and UCLA. Duke's endowment is 5 times bigger than Kentucky's, with Kentucky having twice as many students. UCLA has about 3 times as many students as Duke, but not quite 2/3rds the endowment size.

This is great! We got tot get that championship to make it complete. We would have gotten it in 2019. We will claim that if we can't get real one. This year we have as good a shot as anyone.
