Again it is defensive player of the year not defensive team of the year. You could be the best defender in the world, if you are on a team full of five-year-olds going against top skill players and your defense doesn’t result in wins does not change the fact that you were individually the greatest defender in the league

When he’s not on the floor, they had a rating of 116.7, which was near the bottom of the league. Come back when you can bring actual stats and not lie

That's an insane jump, especially since the wolves drop only like 5 when Gobert goes off. Also, he's averaging 5 stocks per game, not 3. You're thinking of his blocks per game, at 3.6.

Kuminga not being named to the most improve player finalist is a crime. Listen, I get Maxey being a first time All Star and carried the Sixers with Embiid out but Sengun doesn't even played enough games (only 63, out of 82) to meet the minimum requirement of 65 for All NBA selection & other awards. How is Coby White a selection with a 44% field goal in a weaker Conference? It's not like Rockets or Bills had a better record than Golden State. Just joking with the Bills btw, but honestly Kuminga would be dropping +25 easily if he was a first or second option, it's just that Warriors plays in a system that is primarily on getting open threes, Kuminga is freaking shooting +50% fgs while being asked to take on defenders in iso situations. Lastly, when a player that attacks the basket as much as Jonathan and soars in the air to get foul just to put points up when asked, and to improve 7% at the ft line up to a respectable 73% is beyond expectations.

To be clear, I'm a Mavs fan. However imo Wemby is the clearcut DPOY. When he's on the floor the Spurs have one of the highest ranked defenses. When he's off the floor they have one of the lowest ranked defenses. I even saw a clip where it was 2 v Wemby on a fast break and neither of them tried him. They dribbled back out and waited for the whole team's set offense. That's telling. Gobert should not beat Wemby in DPOY.
