Don’t forget, until the Mavs made a trade long after Shaq’s prediction, they were nearly out of the playoffs. In other words, Shaq predicted the team that was just barely a playoff team would win the Championship, not the currently constructed team. Try to pay attention.

@@samschott5632 No they really couldn’t have. Even that game where the C’s were down 18. They kept their heads down and stayed in it. Momentum clearly shifted by the fourth. There was no luck in that victory, just good players making good basketball plays. The only game where luck and choking was involved was game 1. I don’t blame the Pacers for turnovers that the Celtics forced, but those bad ones at the end of game 1 were unforced errors. They could’ve won that game if they stayed calm.

Agreed, these are two of my favourite teams as well. The Inside the NBA crew gave good advice/tools for both teams in the finals as well. Spend a day or two with your families/friends, stay in basketball playing mode and don't buy into the BS/big hype surrounding the finals. This will be a great series

Also Lukas injuries just started getting better against Minnesota. Celtics in 5-6, luka and kyrie are great dont get me wrong and they will have their moments but theyll have less. Shaq is completely wrong, boston does have 4 guys they can throw at luka and kyrie so itll be interesting to see match up wise. Celtics overall have more pieces and in terms of overall play in a duo boston has it. If you count only scoring duo obviously the nod goes to the mavs but two guys just not gonna be enough vs the celtics versatility on defense.

I have a similar take, I think that Boston is great too and it's probably going to be a very close series but the Mavs also have a very complete team, not just Luka and Kyrie. Anyone who disagrees with that hasn't been watching the playoffs. Gafford, Lively and PJ have been tremendous not only on offense but also in defense. This finals has huge stakes in Kyrie back in Boston and Porzingis back in Dallas. It's going to be fireworks!! Can't wait for it!

I don’t buy into the narrative that the Celtics haven’t played anybody. They went to the Finals a few years ago and know the heartache of losing. They’ve been through many battles over the years. It’s going to be a good series. I got the Celtics but it’s close. They been playing down to their competition in these playoffs and it happens. No motivation and think they should win easily due to players being injured. When Portzingus comes back, that should really unlock their whole offense to another level.

Correct people say they beat weak teams. But forget they beat pacers the team that led whole NBA in pts per game 123 and were only team in NBA that shot over 50 percent from field for whole season. Boston can score 140 and play fast or 115 - 120 slow also won 7 games in these playoffs holding teams to under 100 pts. No one else is even close. So if they just play offense and defense the way they do they will b fine.

If Kyrie cooks Holiday, that’s it imo. No player on the Celtics has a chance to guard Kyrie. You can throw bodies at Brown and Tatum and slow them down. Dallas in 6.

Kyrie cooks everybody yeah duh hes amazing but between white and jrue it does not get much better in terms of slowing him down. Bostons defenders are as good as any team at slowing him down. Literally the best defensive backcourt in the league right now.
