Thousands of Chinese have embarked on the dangerous route this year.
But reaching their final destination is no guarantee that their troubles will be over.

How do they get papers? Or are they considered "undocumented" and work under the table for money?They don't speak English. And many of them are "older". And why the US? Why not Japan or vietnam which is closer? We need to stop this border crossing. So now the sick and elderly are coming. Is the US Govt supposed to care for them? And they have drivers licenses and can drive? Illegally I bet.

There’s lots of weird farms importing undocumented labor and mistreating them. Wasn’t there a case in California recently where one of these laborers killed some people due to maltreatment and mental health issues?

The employment agency is only affiliated with the church, so the jobs they offer come from employers in the area. But according to the report, the agency appears to be just a front/bait to lure migrants into paying the pastor for illegal services.

Most of these Chinese migrants would claim political persecution as the reason for leaving China. However, if you ask them about their view on Taiwan independence, the majority will fiercely argue against it. In their point of view, it is absolutely righteous for themselves to enter the US illegally to pursue their freedom, but it is sinful for the Taiwanese population wanting to live freely outside the ruling of Beijing dictatorship.

My grandma was a Christian before CCP took over China, I didn't know until earlier 80s when Churches openned. I personally visted a couple of churches even I'm not a Christian. However there are many 'underground Churches' don't want to register. There's no problem in West but it will bring trouble in China. So both are true. The west public only choose to see one side of truth

But Indians can. They came in millions each year since 2000 starting with H1B visa and getting a high paying job in IT in US, with very little knowledge and we trained them. They then converted to green card after 5 years. Contrast to these Chinese migrants. It is so unfair.

They took the long hard route. Indians go to Canada as international students but obtain jobs, use food banks for the homeless. The Canadian government caves in to their protests to stay, work and claim permanent residence when they were suppose to leave after "studies". Hundreds of thousands of Indians have done this in the past year. If they choose to go to the US, it's easier with a base in Canada although some can't wait, a few died crossing by foot in winter. Some Canadians have noticed the substantial increase in the Indian population out of every other group and are miffed at their demands. To be fair there are just as many Indians crossing the Mexico border.

These people are not refugees, but economic migrants who wouldn’t quality for a work visa. If they were true refugees, they’d have sought refuge in the first place they landed where they could practice their faith freely, in their case, Ecuador. Why going through the ordeal of a 2-month walking journey just to have the same freedoms they could have had if they claimed asylum in any other country along the way? The same happens in Europe, most “refugees” want to reach the UK or Germany when they could have claimed asylum in any other country along the way.

I hope the US authorities will investigate that church's pastor "Chang" if he is a real pastor. In fact, any American should do so to protect the integrity of the immigration/asylum system. It's easy to find out who he is from the appearance of the church and the pastor himself in the video, and there's even the church's phone number on the "board" at some point in the video.

I worked in China before and we organized a Christian House Church where expats ańd Chinese friends come over for fellowship and we have not encountered any problem at all as long as long as we maintain our church in small group. It was one of the best spiritual experiences in my life.

If u can't make it in China now days. U not going to make it in America unless u got a trade and speak English. If not restaurant or labor work. Im Chinese grew up in San Francisco since 1969. Immigration days is over for Chinese. Today America is a broke country. I know so many Chinese from Mainland. They regretted coming over. But they stuck now. The wealthy Mainland Chinese is buying properties to get the green card. My advice. Stay in China. I'm a union electrician. When i retire. I'm heading back to Motherland. Travel China on the HSR.

$5500 is cheap. It costed me over $10,000 to legally getting green card almost 20 years ago through immigration lawyer in Houston who I had never met. All paperwork was deal by paralegal. If you were Mexican, all would be free. How fair is that? Praying for my fellow Chinese ❤❤❤

There are training camps in Gujarat for crossing US borders. They train you on how to scale the wall and walk through rough terrains. Many Gujaratis illegally migrate to US through the same route through Mexico.

The Asylum process is broken in soo many ways. It's so obvious that so many people are lying and being coached as to how to get papers in this country. Meanwhile, people who try to get visas the legal way just keep being denied left, right and center. Some of these MIGHT have experienced persecution or have fears of persecution back in China (as the lawyer said is all that is legally necessary), yet why do all these people get let in and can stay here for years while giving birth to new American citizens. Congress should have passed the recent asylum and refugee reform bill but instead they chose to play politics. Everyone now knows they can just walk into America and face almost no penalties.

They don't have qualified skills. So they choose to borrow all the debt they can get in China and then enter the United States illegally and gain asylum by attacking their home countries on religious and political grounds. There is also a portion of the population that simply comes to the United States to work and earn money, the kinder people. There are also some who are in Burma for Chinese drugs, gangs, fraud and crime, recently China is cracking down on it, many of the heads in Burma have been arrested and the criminals have scattered and fled to the US
