African Union and African Development Bank should assist this company with long-term loans and let all African presidents and their ministers of transport purchase these buses at all costs. This is what we need as people in our motherland.

That is the way forward. I am just writing a 'dream manifesto' it includes one country being a centre of production for electric/green vehicles. We need to forget about focussing on export to countries outside Africa where we dont have leverage or level playing field. Rather if each country focussed on adding value and manufacturing even three or four products for export to African countries it would make a massive difference and solve a lot of problems. It would make us competitive and be able to produce goods of a world class standard.

Now someone even personal,or family problems want to blame government. And once you put yourself in such situation of blaming and complaining you won't grow. Successful people say if you want to be successful stop excuses, complains and blaming other people or governments for your problems instead look for the solutions to them b'se life belongs to you and it's your responsibility change it not someone else or government . By the way I like your thinking leave complaints continue their duty. African governments should be looking at generating intrinsic economic value through infrastructure and trade development by using their very own engineers to develop solutions. It makes no sense that African governments would prefer to have foreign engineers come fix issues in their countries across Energy and Food sectors, when they could focus on grooming their own engineers to solve those problems for example. We need more solutions. We need more manufacturing, not assembling. AFRICA RISING!

Image how much farther the company/project would have gone if he got the millions of dollars he was meant to rather than $500k. The reality is that what it takes to move Africa forward is not difficult but we have pathetic government personnel who ensure that money doesn't flow where it is meant to (i.e innovation)

This is extraordinary, lets give around of applause to Kiira motors in partnership with the Ugandan government for the creation of this mega bus manufacturing factory. This will spur economic development of both the African continent and also Ugandan economy to be compatible on global market. In essence, this initiative has shown that Africa is ready to soar beyond heights without relaying on foreign aid. We now beseech multilateral institution development bank like (AfDB) and other essential regional groups such as AU, SADC AND COMESA to intervene and hold this initiative accountable and give them access to credit facilities in order to advance their works and pursue their developmental goals sustainably. AM TASHINGA MASAMBA FROM ZIMBABWE.

If all Africans can come together and support innovation of such kind by all ways possible to world standard Africa will be so great but to my disappointment, out of all the organizations you have mentioned above, a number of innovative Africans with brilliant mind are still suffering with their lives at risk in the hands of selfish individuals. For instance issues concerning self powered car inventor(Mr. Chikumbutso) is paining me a lot.

Thanks for bringing up that Episode. Uganda has brilliant minds, Afew years back there was a Ugandan that tried to manufacture an Aircraft in his backyard, due to lack of funding, he garnered up fellow Country Men, Women at home and abroad to support his dream of which many did. Since then i haven't heard from that project, not sure if he went overseas.

So proud of this endeavor, I am too old to move to pure African countries like Uganda and Ghana ec., if I was younger I would. I would enjoy being where Africans are a majority and are decision-makers, and progressive ones for that matter. Good job Wode Maya we would not know about it if you did not bring it to us .❤

This is so inspirational. This the most valuable video I have seen. Africa can show the world that she can excel if our leaders take the initiatives to support valuable projects. I agree with previous post that other African countries must purchase from Uganda instead of overseas companies. Also we need to manufacture parts that they import.within Africa. We need to enhance the sciences, engineering, and develop manufacturing on the continent. I am happy to see this development.
