I think he didn't did this on purpose you need to dive deep into it homie. I can say that because you can see Barca's always playing high throughout the season even against the teams like BVB and Inter. He only make them play deep in this game. Using rakitic as CB in last minutes stagens long passes to Suarez escaping the midfield. It all says a story that no one want to hear bro it's because we didn't have a good playmaker like Arthur who usually combine with a de Jong(he was left alone on field with rakitic who doesn't have mich chemistry between them though he is an excellent playmaker no offence)and usually makes a through ball or deep passes for dembele who usually fast on feet. Though they also give passes to MS but having dembele would have given us a chance to push real's last line of defence deep into their third . This would have created a good chances of scoring and having possession. So speedster like dembele and Arthur and de Jong's gimmicks were the most decisive factor that we would have used in our favour. So bro I would say you should sit back and give yourself a time. Don't go with a flow study the game and look at valverde's stats it's not that bad.

Barcelona as a team has been playing poorly the entire season. All that's happening is that you're seeing them win sometimes and not others, either because the opponents were poor or because the world-class, elite players (Messi, Pique, Busquets, Ter Stegen) and the excellent players (De Jong, Alba, Arthur) have a good individual performance. Griezmann is an excellent player but not gelling well, as he admitted himself. Sergi Roberto's strength is being a flexible generalist, but that means he can't actually outcompete any specialist in the positions he's playing. Then we have the players with problems: Suarez has quality and a great connection with Messi but is in serious decline, Semedo is not smart enough, Lenglet improved a lot but is still less smart than Umtiti who has knee problems, Rakitic was never smart enough but has now lost the qualities that made him useful (endurance, workrate), Vidal actively causes confusion and chaos in the midfield because he just runs around unpredictably, creating more work for everyone else. (Also neither of these guys are press-resistant or Barcelona-level passers so they don't help with control or tempo.) Whenever Valverde throws him on it's because he's deploying the guy as a false forward when the opposing team is tired, asking him to run behind the defenders and score, since not enough players from Barcelona are actually doing this. The problem is, he's still a midfielder and scoring is not actually his forte. The moment he plays for 90 minutes you can see all his limitations.

Barca is tied on first place with RM in the standings, and still in play for the CL. In business perspective for the board, there is no reason to kick him out, that's why. Altough I agree on the overall performance of the team not beeing great, unless Barca is finding themselves in 10th place or something, Valverde is not going anywhere. And a few people screaming on YT isn't going to change that.

And Ajax didn't perform as well as they did since 1995. So as I've said; I agree on Valverde cutting out the passion of the club with his input, but it's not all on the coach. Messi can't carry a whole team on his own, Frenkie is awesome but still adapting and so on. People saying if we had Busquets we would've won. That's just BS, it's a team effort.
