My dog ran away when someone accidentally opened the gate. He was gone for days and we couldn’t find him anywhere. One day, a single bark from outside alerted my mom, and there he was, lying down dehydrated, hungry, and tired, but very much alive. He’s still with us and approaching 11 years of age 😇

My cat used to be an outside cat who slept inside at night. So she def knows her way home in case she sneaks out. So glad these were able to be reunited

While my dad was deployed in Qatar, the family cat ran away from the house, and we desperately tried to find him. One of us accidentally let him out by leaving the backyard door open. Fortunately, he came back after we set his litterbox outside. Needless to say, he doesn't go outside without careful supervison of one of our parents. He refuses to wear a collar, do it was scary for us.

Lost my 1st cat, although it was only for 3 days. Those days were hell. Poor boy spent locked in neighbours home after being locked in accidentally. It’s a miracle that we found him as our neighbours were away on holidays.

my childhood cat went missing and after about a week i'd given up hope. i was doing yard work with my mom and as i opened the door to come back out she crawled out from under our wood patio and bolted inside down to the food bowl. she looked like she just got back from nam, her fur was all messed up and filthy.

I went through this hell TWICE and thank god both times they came back! My cat in 2012 was gone for 2 weeks. She got hungry enough where she got brave and started scratching at the door of our apartment to come back in. As soon as the door opened, she darted inside. Only problem was, it wasn’t our apartment. She got the right apartment number, just the wrong building, we were the next one down. I happen to be wondering up and down the parking lot looking for her like I did every day and she came up to me and was like “is this your cat?” She was covered in motor oil. She literally was hiding in one of the vehicles in the parking lot, right under our noses! The second time our kitten escaped and was gone for 56 days! She just randomly showed back up at our front door. I feed the strays and a new cat came around the day before, I fed it and went in for the night. I saw the same cat the next day and my husband is like “OMG THAT IS OUR CAT!” I didn’t even recognize her! She was a kitten when she got lost and she came back a full grown cat 🥰. UGH what a nightmare tho

I understand bonds with animals. This horse I rode all the time at my Uncle's Ranch when I was living there, doing trail rides. An Arabian named Trigger. One day all the horses got out and I followed their trail and the whole herd was gone through this hole in the fence. I called out for Trigger really loud. He came running outta nowhere and I rode him bareback and we both learned how to coral horses that day.. It was pretty cool. I took me a lil while to figure out how to get them all going straight the way I wanted them too lol.. Horse having minds of their owns and all.

I can't imagine what it would be like if you were to lose a pet. It always makes me almost cry even if it isn't my pet which is why I never like watching a dogs way home. It's crazy that Bentley could get that high up in the mountains. That would hurt to lose your dog and have your mother die at the same time.
