Hammerhead Flatworms Are Gross and Bad

The hammerhead flatworm is an invasive species that’s spreading across several states. Unlike earthworms, hammerhead flatworms don’t help the soil. Quite the opposite, Ashley Morgan-Olvera of the Texas Invasive Species Institute told Inside Edition Digital. “It harms our environment by killing earthworms, which can cause money problems because our crops, our gardens, our forests depend on earthworms to survive,” she said.

Uhm- if I’m not mistaken, when I was 14 I picked up one of those worms that I found on my yard (we had a huge mud pit from a slip n’ slide) and I tried to chase my mom with it. I thought it was a baby garden snake, but then realized it was a weird looking worm.

My son dug up exactly one of these last summer up here in Washington state. We live at an apt complex with people moving from out of state a lot, being next to a military base and all. I don't know if they're up here or if we just found the one from a new neighbor moving in and it hopping from a potted plant they brought or something.

@@cats...6101 Worse advice ever. Don't spray them with toxic chemicals. When you poison things like mice and worms with toxic chemicals what often happens is other animals eat it and die too. It's a common killer of animals like cats and owls, so if you like those kind of creatures, and don't want them to be poisoned to death from eating a flatworm, don't do that. The lady literally said all you need is salt to kill them anyway. Talk about overkill.
